Why A.K Anthony is upset with DRDO on Lca Tejas?

Why blame DRDO ?

I am not aware of any organization in the SUBCONTINENT which has lived to it's potential.

When the organization starts there is dedication, passion, and maybe some vision too ......... then after a while the " Pakki NAUKRI CULTURE" takes over every thing else.

I think companies like TATA, L&T, Mahindra, and many others will reach their full potential. Already these companies who are based out of a 3rd world nation are pretty robust.

Maybe in Pakistan but you'll find many Indian companies that have done VERY well and are flourishing today.

:lol:Your wish is granted.

The question is why its taking Anthony this long to get upset? He should be responsible for not getting upset earlier.

Fat cheques from DRDO and HAL kept his mouth shut. He later realised they werent profit making business but a R&D center.

Fat cheques ? This is AK Anthony you're talking about. The man barely has 20 lakh rupees to his name.

He may be slow, but corrupt and money minded, he is not. Please stop with the misleading slander.

Two question. Why the massive delays? Does anyone else think that India should drop the LCA project and restart on a new project and use it's experience to build a better fighter?

NESCOM is doing a better good job, despite the shiz they have to deal with.

Well I mean the labs and the manufacturing units were churning up profits instead of technology....that is what I meant...and how the hell will a PSU bribe the MOD?

And he should be responsible for being slow. The leader should be responsible for something that goes wrong and didn't correct it by firing managers early enough.

How is the research lab making money. They should not be as it would compromise its research mission. There must be a reevaluation of the whole setup and remove the parts that are causing trouble.

THey usually end up allocating a lot more for civillian research like mosquito repellant creams which is bought by companies outside thus making profits. SO most of their resources are spent on things like these. The spin offs not required by the armed forces is often sold to private companies for a price and hence profits are made.
HAL has been making doors and fuselages for airbus and boeing for a long time and also the composite tail fins for airliners. This led to their resources being concentrated on these petty things but neglected their major customer the MoD.

Maybe they should spin off the commercial sector and focus on the defense related areas. Otherwise, the defense sector will get shoved into the back burner.

Why A.K. Anthony is upset with DRDO on LCA Tejas?

Why wouldn't he be? LCA get IOC-I in Jan 2011.Even after more than two years of it, LCA has yet not received IOC-II. The Mig-21 was due for retirement in 2017. But till then only 1 squadron of LCA mk1 can be raised. This forced IAF to fly Mig-21 till 2019 when 40 Tejas mk1 will be ready and if everything went right with Tejas mk2, 8-10 tejas mk2. Just 40-50 aircraft will be ready for replacing 150 odd Mig-21. 5 squadron of less fighters and if I take 3 squadron of Rafale to be ready by 2019, even then IAF will not have more than 36 squadron going by the numbers of different fighters being inducted. Retirement of Mig 27 will only complicate the situation.

I think Mr. Antony should also direct HAL. Taking 11 months to build a LSP of small Tejas size fighter is not accepted. Initial Production rate of 8 is not accepted as well.

These defence organnizations need to run like efficient Corporations. Why not bring a CORPORATE culture to them? Also, have them run 24-7 ....3 shifts per day tacking challenges.......Why not run a pilot program?

.
It takes dedication to get these things done. Some people just don't have it.

I don't say this as an insult to the Indian defense industry. In any other less hardcore industry these people would succeed.

I am simply saying, the Chinese head of the J-15 naval aviation project died of a heart attack at the scene of a J-15 landing on the Liaoning carrier.

He was pretty much kept alive by his determination to complete the J-15, it takes that type of commitment to do something as advanced as this with limited time and in some cases budget.
