Who’s To Blame For Pakistan’s Crisis Situation? Ft. Javed Hassan

To some extent, the security instability because of fighting in Afghanistan is also to blame for Pakistan's economic misfortune. The Afghans themselves have also greatly suffered :undecided:

Presidential system at best but not single anything
Current British style parliamentary system leads to new government every 2 years......no stability. Relatively dumb politicians have too much say in economic matters. Economic decisions are not made for the long term as a result, only stupid short term ones. This is the main structural issue. PPP is the worst of all looking back at history.

East Asian model with a single party government is the best for economic development. At the bare minimum there should be a fixed term for a government. Key economic decisions should be made by a council of experts.

Maybe Keep economic matters seperate from politcs? - IE 10-15 year term for FM and economic council responsible for economy

Other thighs can keep changing

Changing head of state is also bad. Bad for global interaction and confidence.

Btw, here is food for thought. An economy that lags more and more behind India, makes achieving Kashmir independence or holding the northern areas become at risk, because this kind of weakness will be seen by the enemy as the right conditions to attack. I pray it doesn’t take the loss of territory, as in 1971, for the powers that be to realize what is needed.

There is no need to attack what one can asphyxiate.

.
Another issue brought up in this video is the need to redistribute farmland, especially in the flood effected areas, in part to prevent long term exploitation of the population, as rebuilding happens due to people needing to go to loan sharks to rebuild their lives.

There is no need to attack what one can asphyxiate.
They will do the later as much as possible before attempting to do the former. Reforms are the only way to get breathing space and prevent any of it from happening

If you want to import from East, Look at Indonesia or Malaysia. Reasonably well run. From north, follow Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan - not the greatest, but no drama countries. From Arab land, you have Egypt, Algeria, Morocco. Anybody but Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya is an improvement.

all highlighted are very trash tbh , most probably even more than us (atleast before 2018 economic collapse version of us)

Low IQ people are ruling and all the smart folk have left the country. If the smart want to come back and rule they are chased away.

As of now, I see no evidence to suggest that Pakistan has either the desire or the ability to arrest its slow decline into a controlled implosion of its own making. All "they" need to do is wait, that is all.

No one in particular is to blame. We have been living beyond our means for more than 70 years and now the chickem has come home to roost. We have to make drastc strucural changes and learn to live within our resources in order to survive.

Summary answer: We are. 100%. No one else.

Yes, but explanations are only needed where there is intent to solve the crisis. We have no such plans, so what good is an explanation that everyone who can see already knows?

Ok, lets see this, putting down the scene as it is.
The problem we are facing is the lack of governance,
It is the political government's prerogative to govern, legislate, and manage.
It is the civil service's responsibility to carry out the strategy from political gov and implement it efficiently. ( this includes Military )

Our political government fails, because they are not there to run or govern the country, they are predominantly feudal lords.

Our civil service is still the same as the british left us, and hasn't moved an inch.

and our military comprises of the only disciplined institution, who turns to try and become feudal lords once they cross the colonel rank.

The general population is a headless chicken, has no direction or strategy from the top, thus they have become absolute self serving , cut throat animals.

Just, hit, run, make money, and that is IT !

How do we fix it ?
Has to start with one honest, free, election.
Letting the political government do its thing for 5 years ensuring they start from grass root level of what needs to be done.
a. Fix police.
b. Ensure provinces follow federal MOI.
c. Fix the commerce ministry.
d. Fix the economic ministry.
e. Then move on to fix the borders, with tasking the military to form a bullet proof and water tight non=permeable border. They can't do it ? hire another, until it is done.
f. Start land reforms, with strict condition that any land more than 10 acres has to be owned by a registered corporation and not individuals.

Everything else, from then onward is easy.
