Who will survive ultimately: Hindu India or Secular India?

Correction A Hindu Nation.

Banana Republics look like Bangladesh and Pakistan and Muslim ghettos in India.

India with 40% low caste who dont have one meal to eat, isnt?

A dog is millions times better......

I just looked at two picture side by side, a Dog and a Hindu. First time i will say this to an Indian, you were right Sir.

What kind words.
Dogs are any day better than humans. Loyal to fault and have no agenda. Can't say the same about humans.

Dont worry most indians are as attractive as dogs

Thank you too for your kind words. Can't say the same about you though.

Out of interest are dogs one of your gods?

Even you are my god dear friend. Visit my house and I will treat you as god(Athidi devo bhavaha).
God is every where and in everything.

Yes even Sita attempted to treat Ravan as god only to get abducted and scarred for life.

What kind of a fool would ignore this and continue to treat Ravan as god and guest ?

The war is on and many battles are being fought across the spectrum of the country at the same time.

I feel secular India will die a death by thousands cuts. The more resistance it tries to show against the wave, the earlier its death would be.
Dude can you put up a poll in this thread? Looks interesting.

The only true secularism is to be anti-any ideology that thinks human consciousness survives death and miracles can break Laws of Physics.....

India's secularism lets people to retain their irrational beliefs in their mental cupboard without ever actually taking them out and examining them

It is sham secularism

If India's government and people donot have the same mindset towards religious/non-scientific ideas as the Chinese and Japanese have, India is destined for mediocrity for the next 50-150 years

Yeah but the question is, is any form of secularism, whether current or the one you envision, will even survive in the country when there is an increased tendency from the right wing Hindu nationalists to undermine the current state sponsored secularism and the increase in activities of some to turn the state in to a Hindu one?

Hinduism/dharma is 'secular', these are not conflicting ideologies.

India has never been secular in the true sense of the word (as practiced in the west)

in India, certain groups have taken advantage of this warped 'secularism' and doubled down on their own supremacist agenda of not respecting either the overwhelming majority or other smaller minority groups.

the people have had enough of this version of 'secularism'

things are going to get much worse for the congress, commies, aap, islam apologists etc

The bigger problem with Hindu nationalism is an encouragement of pseudo-science, pseudo-history from the very top..This besides historical revisionism of the Medieval era (Rana Pratap defeating Akbar)...I am horrified at what it will do in extinguishing the budding scientific and rational temper of the Indian populace.....(Lot of rationalist movements down south that quash the fake supernatural claims of Babas and Fakirs)

As long as the collective energy of the Indian state and Indian people can deliver 7-8% growth rate for 30 years straight, things will converge to true secularism (not state imposed one)...The kind of secularism seen in East Asia and North Western Europe..where most people have come to terms with the fact that there is no afterlife, and this life is as good or bad as things will ever get.

Because it is the natural tendency of a populace to converge to true secularism once achieving near-developed status....The exceptions being countries of the Middle East whose developed status has been brought about by resource windfall rather than the cognitive achievements of the populace

Now the question is Can the Indian populace deliver 8% growth rate for 30 years straight from now?
I will say NO...I am of the opinion that infinite economic growth is not possible on a finite planet

India along with the rest of the developing world has missed the bus when it comes to economic growth..China took the bus and occupying it all by itself

The world can at best sustain 2 billion people at developed lifestyle level, be it with renéwable energy or not.
there are already close to 1 billion people living in developed societies..the rest 1 billion will come from China

How do I see India's trajectory in the 21st century?

India will be like Latin America of 20th century while China will be like North America of 20th century

As soon as the growth peters out, there will be violence between all the religious nincompoops as well as between the religious ones and the rationalists...........After the violent conflicts have been fought over, India as well as the whole subcontinent may settle down to a life of uneasy hedonism and increased crime, as evidenced in modern day Brazil...there will still be super high tech companies in India churning out world class products, just as there is Embraer in Brazil

india was always somewhere in the middle... the elements of secularism enshrined in constitution will not be easy to remove... hindutva might be in upswing but it coincides with political fortune of bjp, and bjp can lose due to many factors (inflation, local issues in multiple states, anti-incumbency etc) which has nothing to do with religion.

You go to love the part where he boldly claims "islam is religion of peace" and then goes on to say he will wipe out hindus and India from the face of the earth
He will be the first one to cry like a little you know what if shove came to the push. He will shove his little kids in front of him to save his sorry behind.

Aside from the beef ban, the laws are becoming more secular. Some Hindus are angry because most of the muslims are refusing to modernise. But that's changing rapidly. It depends mainly on the muslims. If they accept progressive laws ( read modern/ western), the Hindus won't be left behind.
Anyhow, the ones creating trouble are typically the jobless ones, so this should reduce with increasing prosperity over time.
The younger generation cares more about jobs and money than gods and faith.

Hopefully the Hindu India....

Hindu India is actually good for Pakistan... because it exposes the Hindutva extremism and keeps the Pakistani neo-liberal appeasers in their place.

Hindu India = Strong Pakistan
