Who will be the next Army Chief? Name comes up

MUST BE HAND PICKED BY GENERAL RAHEEL.

as any one else might be incompetent or Zia ki bakiyaat or Kiyani type sleeping at the wheel.

Current COAS should send a summary to the PM with his recommendation.

. .
I fully support Araz that institution matters not personalities. However Gen Raheel deserves an extension. He is doing remarkable job.

unlike the civilian set-up ... the promotion is not a forgone conclusion merely based on seniority. officers are promoted based on merit and their ability and hence a junior officer can supersede a senior.

refer to last promotion of Gen Sharif where all other candidates were able and the successful candidate was not necessarily the senior most.

he still has a lot of time, why this discussion?
thats what he has said some time ago
that he has enough time to conclude the operation and bring some people to justice

.
Gen Raheel as per my personal opinion will not take any extension he want to be scandal free untill unless something big happen.

Firstly The question raised for the thread was to name future candidates for the post of COAS. Secondly one must always remember that it is not the person but the institution. The policy is implemented by core commanders and any action of the COAS is dependant on the support of the COAS. As such the army will not disintegrate if Raheel Shareef goes. Some other capable person will take his role up and keep the show rolling. We should not rely on personalities but on the institution.
Araz

100% agree ...but General should get extension .

.
Would love a chief from AK this time ^_^ Isi bahanay AK center hi behtar hojaye ga :p

.
Some of the obscure print media sources are claiming Lt. General Javed Iqbal Ramday, Commander XXXI Corps, Bahawalpur as the most likely candidate. Lets see how things pan out. Not too long to wait.

.
So they are the likely generals who might get the stardom that Niazi got :laugh::laugh:
