Bangladeshi politics has been dominated by two women. Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia. Sheikh Hasina has become far more powerful leader than her counterpart Khaleda. Hasina is the defacto autocratic leader of Bangladesh currently. Even her detractors also praise her for her fearless position during many crisis moment of the country.

When world Bank refused to give loan due to allegations of corruption in Padma Bridge construction. Only Hasina took the challenge to construct it by country's own fund. Only because of her courage Padma Bridge, the most challenging project of the country is nearing completion now.

Bangladeshi people don't actually want election now. They want Sheikh Hasina to run the country until she passes away but who will next after Hasina?

What do you think about future of Bangladesh politics? Will Islamists rule after Sheikh Hasina passes away or Tareq Rahman, Khaleda Zia's son will be ruler of the country?

Awami League doesn't have anyone currently from Mujib family to be next prime minister of the country? Joy is not people's leader. He is too much reserved to be next ruler. So who will be next prime minister of Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina dies of old age?

She couldn’t dare to construct it with our own money had it not been for the remittance growth. It’s not her money or the govt. money, it’s money of expat bdeshi

people in bd generally don’t care about election or whoever is ruling the country. They want stability and want to be left alone

I think Haseena is fine for BD
But problem is inspite of so many years gov. She has failed to expand BD industry.
But for this decade hasina is fine.

You can see many of our people do not think industries are a necessity. They want big big projects like Roopur atomic or the Padma bridge the pictures of which they can show to their foreign friends to claim that BD is a fast developing country.

To these BAL brats in the PDF, industries are like the husk of a coconut and should not be built. The big civil projects built with foreign loans are all coconut flesh.

In no time, BD will start suffering from the excessive repayment of loans every year.

The road to Dhaka goes through Beijing.

the problem with monarchies such as bangladesh is succession.
expect bloodshed and instability when the pm for life passes away.

good monarchs identify a competent heir and prepare him/her for leadership. to avoid instability and bloodshed.

To these BAL brats in the PDF,
No bhai, PDF members are sensible enough to think who is best for their country.
But the problem is they know that Haseena is the only available option who should be given the govt.
For example,in Pakistan, PTI is not something very capable, but we don't have any other better option.
So that's the case unfortunately.

No their will be no bloodshed,BAL will manage it.
Last time I heard BD was a democratic county.

succession in monarchies can be bloody, especially with competing heirs to the throne. maybe it is managed properly, it depends.

Bangladesh is a "democracy" same way India is a "secular" state.
how else do you explain how a person became head of the ruling party just because her father founded it. She inherited the right to rule Bangladesh just like in a monarchy.
