I admit that he could have been killed, but, on the other hand, he was already an elderly man - 73 years old. So his death could be of natural reasons.

no one has the balls to touch Stalin. not after the purges and not after the epic victory in world war 2.
it is possible Stalin died of benign medical neglect. the doctors were petrified of treating Stalin lest they be accused of poisoning him.
