What's new

Who are China's allies ?

Look, you're a smart guy.

didn't intend for this to be some kiddy troll thing.

and as I said earlier, we understand realpolitik.

so given that

I'll ask again, who are China's allies ? Certainly not Japan for example..

and it's a fair and good reply if you were to say "China don't need allies", like some other person said here.

but I've seriously been thinking about this and couldn't come up with a definite 'yes !'... apart from Pakistan, as far as being China's ally.

again, I know you understand realpolitik.. so tell us who are China's friends ?

Iran, maybe.. apart from Pakistan ??

What are "allies" and what are allies for? We have big business partners around the world, that's all we need now. Allies for what?

If you want to walk fast, walk alone.
If you want to walk far, walk with your friends.
China was walking fast for more than 3 decades, now you are seeing it walking far. Most recent example is long-term partnership with Iran.

much better

I get it, given the economic behemoth China has risen to be.. you don't really need allies, but have one in Pakistan anyway.

a most enviable position to be in.

what matters is not how many allies china has

but how many people willing to fight china

most will stay neutral

yeap, be real interesting to watch this space and how the US - China thing plays out given the apparent ever decreasing gap in military capabilities.

Chinese weapons just haven't seen enough action to be labelled 'proven battle tested'

also that the US still basically controls the world and a lot of smaller states are basically bullied into staying away from Chinese equipment.

Insecure much?
Now will India count allies before launching an all out assault on China? I thought they were counting their dead first.

. .
Russia, Israel, the US, the west.. many. Even in the middle east, India has good friendly relations with most of the world. China ? not so much..

China doesn't seem to have many friends in the world.

and I understand realpolitik, as do you I'm sure.

we're not talking about some human teeny girly definition of "friend" when we talk allies etc.

so who are China's allies ?

apart from Pakistan.
Russia - It is busy developing military relations with your Enemy Pakistan and has already strategic level relations with your Enemy China. So Russia goes out of the Ally list.

The US - still waiting for any tangible support from US in recent China-India standoff in Dokhlam.

Israel - yes, here you are right.

SriLanka, Bangladesh, Nepal ...... recheck please. Tide has turned.

Europe - unko apnay masail niptaanay say fursat nahi. They have their hands full with their own shit.

Middle East - same as Europe.

The baboons do not have any worthwhile allies.

such as ?

and that's only the Middle East. What's surprising is that China was able to pull off a comprehensive strategic partnership with Iran and KSA in the same year :azn:. That's like playing diplomacy with cheat codes :enjoy:

interesting, but how does one define "comprehensive" and "strategic" here ?

India has done well to balance KSA/UAE etc with Iran as far as relations go too, btw.

Russia - It is busy developing military relations with your Enemy Pakistan
again, please look at this from a realpolitik or realgeopolitik pov

not a teeny girly view about "friendship"

Say it again? Which country is your ally ?
Pakistan, Middle East, Asia, Russia, Israel, EU.. many. China has good friendly relations with most of the world. India?
Even US have more relations(trade/travelling) with China than India LOL

.
interesting.

but the Chinese are barred from the ISS and nobody is allowed to sell them any weapons, so no space or defence collaborations with any major world power, not even Russia, but Russia sells them weapons.

trade, where they hold leverage over all other trading partners is about it.

China is alone in the world, and doing just fine.. but they're still alone, without any friends or allies, apart from Pakistan.

problems with virtually all your neighbors in the SCS.. Vietnam, Indonesia etc

disputes with Japan and the Philippines

major problems with Australia

and the US

and again.. can we please talk realpolitik here, not some kiddy definition of "friends" ?

The world biggest trading naion is never alone, otherwise China can't achieve this world dominant status.

6 claimant nation all staked their claims in SCS and don't see eye to eye with each other, but this doesn't affect the relations between them. It's very different from land disputes from two contestants.
