Its indeed true that the greatest powers in history were homogenous in one way or other.

I too believe one of the most important factors for Japan,Korea & China to develop this fast is because of their near complete ethnic homogeneity. No religious/linguistic/ethnic insurgencies, no costly social experiments to maintain unity among various competing groups, no divergent ideals etc. The people share a single ideal and work collectively as a part of it. Listen I'm not in the mood to point out how Turkey is situated on Greek and Persian land. The means for competing with other nations has changed but the end result is still the same: accumulation of wealth by any nation comes from the finite earth thereby at the cost of other nations who cannot compete. korea is rich because its corporations are killing others (namely Japanese), Taking livelihoods Of its competitors (same as taking land).

Back then Europe was able to compete with china and the Ottomans. Now western world is at the bottom. The ones who are more homogenious are winning.

The East Asians and Gulf Arabs have it right, in terms of immigration and how citizens come first.
