It doesn't have to ... I see a pattern here -- whether it the blk-52 deal or the Peace gate III aircraft being delivered or the EX RJAF aircrafts ... its always the same thing... most of the Indians have to voice their opinions about how they are not bothered by 13/14/18 F-16's being inducted ... however ...

Let's not forget PAF had 32 F-16's at the start of the 2000's --- that number has more then doubled and all of the F-16's have been upgraded with the majority operating at BLK-50 level so ... keep telling us how your not bothered by it ... cuz if the deal goes through IAF won't have to face 8 F-16's -- it'll have to face over 80+ ..

Don't be bothered then... let's just say that F-16 isn't the only platform we've had "second hand copies" of .. another just happened to be the fighter called sabre ... the platform that was so feared by the IAF that it had to create myths of "sabre slayers" while the IAF was beaten to a pulp at the hands of the very jets they were supposedly slaying ..

The article says that 14 combat air crafts were delivered this year in may. It seems all the embargoed F-16s have been delivered. Previously we had 76 jets. The addition of these 14 take the number to 90. And now 8 more will make 98 jets.
Can anyone tell the exact number of F-16s in PAF?

well your right .. things have changed ... and the change is not only in the IAF but also the PAF which is retiring its older aircrafts and replacing them with JFT, adding in upgraded falcons and inducting force multipliers ... so yeah .. the PAF of today is a completely different beast then what it was in say 2008 ... BTW I remember certain threats by Indians in 2008 .. remember those 'surgical strikes' ...

well some guys gave up on the idea when their precious MKI's and M2K's got locked on by F-7PG's and those "old" F-16's ...

yes and since we paying with our own funds we can only buy 8 of the 18 aircraft requested earlier.

rather buy a little used F16s block 52s but atleast buy a squadron.

F-16 C/D 52+ plus we are talking the most advance and capable jet in PAF inventory.

In my humble view Vipers are ONLY viable if we get them in V version. If not and, those 8 jets on offer are Block 52+ then, hopefully they come with AESA radars. And if even that's not happening then, I simply fail to see the advantage(s) that F-16 has over Su-35.
