Because your Indian Armed forces already admitted that they can never hope to match us.

'India can't match China's military force': Indian Naval Chief - IBN Live

New Delhi: Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sureesh Mehta has set off a storm by saying India cannot match China military force. Is it a warning from India's military that the government needs to hear?

"In military terms, both conventional and non-conventional, we neither have the capability nor the intention to match China force for force," said Admiral Sureesh Mehta.

For a nuclear-armed military representing the interests of a billion-plus people, the lack of confidence is quite striking. India's military leadership has made a stunning confession that New Delhi doesn't have the stomach for a fight, if push came to shove on the disputed Sino-Indian boundary.

"Whether in terms of GDP, defence spend or any other parameter, the gap between the two is too wide to bridge and is getting wider by the day," he said.

Nehru pleaded for US help against China in 1962 - Times Of India

India begged both the USSR and the USA to save them during the 1962 war.

But neither one came. Even though at that time (1960's) China was an enemy of BOTH the USSR and the USA, having recently fought the Korean war with America and the Sino-Soviet split with the USSR. Also, China at that time was just coming out of the worst famine in Chinese history (which only ended in 1961).

So despite them both being our enemies, and China being at its weakest point in history, neither the USA or the USSR came to save India.

Today, the USA is our largest trading partner, with their top officials calling for a "G-2" with China. And Russia is now our ally, and also a co-founder of the SCO along with China.

LOL u chinese are stuck on 62'.

LOL u chinese are stuck on 62'.

In 1962, India's economy was the same size as China's economy.

Today, China's economy is FOUR times the size of India's economy, with commensurate military spending. We have never been in a better position vis-a-vis India, since the founding of the PRC.

As your own Indian Armed forces have already acknowledged, "the gap between the two is too wide to bridge, and is getting wider by the day."

Yeah, China is really strong and tough. Let's all bend over to our new superpower, China.

LOL u chinese are stuck on 62'.

Yup, let's give them a trophy for that and for the 1979 as well. They need it more than we do. :enjoy:

Yeah, China is really strong and tough. Let's all bend over to our new superpower, China.

We're not a superpower, not even close.

But we are growing faster than any other country on Earth. (And don't bother bringing in India with their sinking 6.1% growth rate).

All we have to do is to keep building up our capabilities.

Its a double edged sword my friend.. CHina has 4 times as much to lose in a war against a nuclear enemy.. A war that may go nuclear.. Why would China ever want to get into a confrontation with India and divert attention from its economic growth when it has Paksitan as cannon fodder for that purpose...

OK then stop whining and bring it on.

if viet leaders are sane about their security upto some extent then they should spend more on weapons for 4-5 years while delaying any other major projects.nukes are not option so conventional weapons are only resistance.
patch up with U.S and ask them for weapons.chinese tech is decade behind what u.s presently have.

Pakistan's nuclear arsenal by itself is already larger and growing faster than the entire Indian nuclear arsenal.

As for China? Please... 1 megaton (India) vs 294 megatons (China)... it's not even close. And that is the lowest assumed size of the Chinese nuclear arsenal.

Even one single Chinese nuke is around 3-4 megatons, and contains more power than the entire Indian nuclear arsenal. Combined with the inherent geographical advantages (China's population centers are thousands of kilometres away from India, while India's capital city and population centres are right next to the Tibetan border).

:kiss3:

Not gold but only men can make

A people great and strong;

Men who for truth and honor’s sake

Stand fast and suffer long.

Brave men who work while others sleep

Who dare while others fly—

They build a nation’s pillars deep,

And lift them to the sky. —
( Ralph Waldo Emmerson )

Exactly right. I give credit to Jewish Americans who got on a plane to go defend Israel in the Arab-Israeli wars.

The Indian American and Indian Australian fanboys here will be the first to hide in their basement and fight in Internet forums if war between China and India ever breaks out.
