That news piece is pure propaganda made by the Indians to do some damage control during the skirmish.

The US/PENTAGON did not release any statements exclusive to Hindustan Times (which is where it was originally fabricated, the other Indian news outlets just copied and pasted what HT wrote). Lara Seligmen was the one who broke the news of the F16 count, she is a Pentagon correspondent. All India did was say the Pentagon told them exclusively that no count happened. Which is a lie because it did happen.

Later, the Indian political leadership decided to hide the incident under the garb of a scheduled phase-out of the MiG-21 Bison fighter from IAF service, according to the leaked documents.

One of the Indian pilots spent 40 minutes inside his washroom as Pakistani fighter were bombing Indian bases, while out of the 24 pilots at the airbase, only 5 were able to get airborne, half an hour after orders were passed, according to a leaked Indian MoD inquiry report.

Tejas is using GE engines as of now but that doesn’t mean it will always use GE Engines
Indian Kaveri turbofan engine is capable of producing a stable wet thrust of 73kn and dry thrust of 52kn it’s not sufficient to power a multi role LCA like Tejas but it can still power GHTAK Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV)

The next 130kn engine which India is developing for AMCA would be a game changer

@Irfan Baloch India is capable of making a fifth generation fighter jet on its own but what’s matters the most is the turbofan engine i have been following the turbofan engine program of India China and Japan for last 10 years
Japan has successfully made world class turbofan engine which produces a whooping 150kn wet thrust to power 6th generation fighter jets Chinese engines are also doing fine but they’re not as good as the Japanese one now India after 30 years of extensive research on Kaveri engine is also inching closer to perfect this technology i am pretty sure India will perfect this technology like they perfected the Cryogenic engine for satellite launch vehicles
