That may be true, but different people will interpret the texts differently. How can you ensure that people interpret it correctly?
my interpretation is better than yours....and the cycle continues ...till the point of absurdity

I should have used educated. Because literacy and education both are terms now ill defined and badly used. We have Harvard "educated" folk treating others like crap, while illiterate ones being examples for humanity. Education is not bound to degrees, but by self learning the best from society.Literacy and humanity do not hand in hand.Jews for example have the highest literacy, but they are committing the worst crimes against humanity in Palestine and elsewhere. Because literacy is not aimed at educating about morality and respect for fellows, it is a post-industrial revolution contrivance for producing while and blue collar fodder for the industry.
Just to support your argument late Abdul Sattar Edhi had little education(literacy but his passion for humanity was far beyond any Harvard graduate has shown so far.I should have used educated. Hitler was a Christian. Look it up.Islam is highest growing in terms of both converts and birth rate.
Religion is in our genes (literally); it is a unique segment of human evolution was and still is very necessary for human survival.
Many of our technological and intellectual advancements were due to religion. Religion on the other hand has united people more than it has divided them. Religion is an integral part of humanity and is what clearly defines human morals.
Humans are the main reason why we have divisions amongst people and it is completely natural. We had to (and still do) compete for resources, land and power. We had to fight for survival even though it meant compromising the survival other people.
Atheists like Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao - have caused about as much as deaths (in 50-60 year time period) than all the wars combined from human history.
Atheism is actually projected to decline.
1 In Islam; our life here is just a test - that'll pass us by like a second.
Mus’ab ibn Sa’eed reported: His father asked, “O Messenger of Allah, which people are tested most severely?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “They are the prophets, then the next best, then the next best. A man is tried according to his religion. If he is firm in his religion, then his trials will be more severe. If he is weak in his religion, then he is tried according to his strength in religion. The servant will continue to be tried until he is left walking upon the earth without any sin.”
Muslims and those who Allah loves will be trailed and tested; these tests can range from devastating disasters to smaller personal tests.
The Quran is not complicated at all. You read it and you learn from it; if you are confused on a specific verse, you check how the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) carried it out (also called Sunnah). That is what the Prophet (SAW) explicitly said. Terrorists get their information from radical mullahs who work for their own selfish needs and that is their fault.
We are not forced to call Allah 'leader'. Allah has simply said to find the truth and light; search for it.
There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end.My counter question is why didn't this test is for all the organism on the EARTH, and why Humans, HomoSapiens are subjected to this test.
Why is the 'killing of the cow' banned in those states?Killing of the COW
Humans have the freewill to do whatever they want; but (example) when you were growing up, did you not have Parents who would set instructions; because they care for you?If he had given us Freedom to choose between Right and Wrong, then why he is giving us instructions to Follow.
You shouldn't compare survival (physical) to spirituality (non-physical). This should not be considered as a 'religion' either. As Far, as a Human Being is concerned, the Only Purpose of the Life of the Human, or any other Organism is TO SURVIVE -- For that all organism will eat, drink, multiply, and give his Legacy to its Offspring, and there is no need of any BOOK to Understand this Simple Religion.
There is difference between rules and instructions. Like you said; gravity is a rule. In Islam things like expansion of the universe (stated by Quran) is also a rule. Allah gave us instructions; not rules. You have the ability to skip a red light (with consequences) but you dont have the ability to resist gravity.IF GOD have made any Rules, it is evident, and there is nothing which could be Challenge
All Rules other than the GOD/Natures are for the help of sustaining the Society, and since Change is the Nature of TIME, all Rules/Instruction/Books should be changed accordingly.

Others were communists/dictators. Did they kill in the name of atheism?
Btw, atheism will decline in relative terms because of higher birthrates of religious folks. The absolute number of atheists will increase.
It is projected to increase in developed countries.
