Even the 105 mm RCL is still being used by many countries

I love the 105mm RCL, it is my DP.

And trust me, put 5 jeep mounted puppies in each border post, it will be a massive force multiplier.

On the topic of consolidation,

We might want to rethink Guided missile frigates, and replace them completely with Guided missile Destroyers.

Same platform for ASW Corvettes and NGMV.

What about satellites and their role in phasing out conventional surveillance platforms.

If that was true, we wouldn't be using Atlantic 2s over the Sub-Sahara/Sahel nor in Iraq/Syria.
Plus ISR can be armed to replace dedicated bombers.
And plus redux, if anything makes ISR ACs obsolete, it will be drones more than satellites.
They're way more supple and can also be armed ( so third strike at bombers ).

If an old ship has some life left it can still be used for many years

However we have recently made New generation Stealth frigates --Shivalik class
and also Kolkata class destroyers

The New generation of ships will be a technological upgradation and improvement
whereby they can function more effectively in the present times

Same platform for ASW Corvettes and NGMV.

Both have different functions ; combining both in one will create a Large Frigate
