Which Mods do you like and which Mods do you hate?

I am not a mod any more mate, & have not been one since 2015. But it feels great to be put in the same line with @Oscar who is also my fav poster on PDF.

Good that you are not a mod anymore, you, just like Oscar, are extremely intolerant of opposing views.
That, of course, has nothing to do with the quality of your posts.

I do "love" most Indians - does not mean I will not hesitate to pull the trigger on one.
Dont care much about that side of the family anymore; the key people passed away and what is left are no longer in touch as much.

There are friends there, as there are friends in occupied Kashmir who are in pain...

But I realized this once I came to another country, try as I might; I am not an "interational citizen'.. I hate a thousand things about my countrymen but will always love them. From the Torkham border down to Pasni to Sialkot and Larkana. That is my family, no matter what racist and religous exploitation may occur; them I will always go to and side with.. over any Indian, Bengali or Yank anyday.
Respect.... :)

I would like some examples of extreme intolerance please, just for curiosity's sake. Certain topics do elicit negative reactions sooner than others, I admit. But I tried to be very fair in how I moderated. You & I might have had disagreements is the only way I can rationalize your opinion of me. But y'know at my age, it does not matter what anybody thinks of me. I am just glad that you remembered me. :-)

Religion and Kashmir...
My points mostly attract MODS... warnings and negative rating... case close...

I don't hate anyone in life... either I like and care for someone or I don't bother about anybody...

After reading posts of @gambit and @MastanKhan I frequently visited it...

Now most of the topics are crap and people get personal while attacking... discussions are rare...

What is the meaning of your ID chak bamu or mamu?
I wrote about it in my introduction in 2013. Chak Bamu (aka Chak GhoRean da - village of horses) in Jallundhur district of East Punjab is where my father was born and from where my elders migrated in 1947. My father had died in 2012 & I chose this user name to honor his memory & roots. As for myself, I was born & raised in Lahore.

Good to know.. my grandfathers (both sides) also migrated from eastern Punjab though originally they migrated from Swat some 500+ years ago. So you explained "Chak = which means village of horses" but what about "Bamu"? BTW out of curiosity where did you study?

I remember almost everyone with whom I have had a serious discussion on any topic.
We have had disagreements and you misused your authority as a Mod more than once.
But it has been almost five years now.
Similarly, Oscar used to ban me from threads when unable to counter my arguments.
That too was more than two years ago.
That's why I said that you guys were biased as mods, in my opinion.
Other than that, I respect your right to have your own opinions

Chak simply mean village. Bamu is most likely the name of the person who founded it (and thus one of my forefathers).

The Eastern Bank of river Beas had many villages with Muslim majority & some had pashtun / pathan populations. The fight against Sikhs in 1947 was led by Qarar Khan and some of his descendants are my friends even today.

My schooling is Esena Foundation School, Beacon House School, Government College Lahore, Georgia Institute of Technology and the rest is diplomas & certifications, IA I shall be adding Executive MBA in a couple of months that I did just because I wanted to do it, not because I needed to do it - made great friends with guys & gals a generation younger than myself.

I tend to forget, & that is why I need to be reminded. I would appreciate knowing the subject of discussion, please.

Great... my grandparents came from Samana, Patiyala, Barraichaan etc.. I used to hear a lot of stories from my grandma.. that how they lived protected inside the walled fortresses and how they used to travel in something called 'palki' in the night time and escorted by horse men.. and Sikhs were their subjects who worked on their farmlands outside the walled fortress.. I have not observed myself so I don't know the exact details but near the partitions, Sikhs changed their loyalties and killed a few of our elders through deception as they invited them to bless the "false" marriage of their daughters which has been a tradition for centuries and they poisoned them.
Our family / tribe joined AIML (All India Muslim League) and struggled under the unprecedented leadership of Q. A. and they opted to migrate to Pakistan in 1947. They were fighters so they thwarted the both the swarms of hindus in saffron chaddies and Sikhs.

Ahh Yes. That brings back some memories. Had you persisted with your first user name of Azlan, I might have remembered you.

Both the samples provided by yourself do show a heated exchange (I still stand by my views) but no misuse of authority as a moderator. I was a bit harsh as a poster because you kept calling my reasoning & facts presented by me as just rhetoric. I still remember those exchanges, though I would not have the inclination or stamina to continue them here.

I wish you well. I have moved on. I hope you do too. Thanks for spending time with me here.

Those disagreements were before you became a mod... You misused your authority later on ... Khair bhai, forget it...

I too wish you well.
Have a nice day ...
