Which is the second best BVR fighter (after F-22)?

what a joke Gripin cd is the next most powefull bvr fighter next to f22. Poor Rafale EF Su35 because they lack MBDA Meteor...So basically adding Meteor into Mig 21 will makes it super BVR fighter jet ?

Eurofighter Typhoon is the second best fighter in terms of air superiority.

Eagle's talons ooze blood.

And like P-8 and Triton, the F-15 and F-22 are becoming a closely networked unit. TALON HATE is helping with that

Bye bye MiG 29, Bosnia hardly knew ya. Next time don't violate NATO flight restrictions.

Eagle's old, but they're still gold. The F-15's my choice.

Which is the best BVR fighter, if You are not allowed to carry any missiles?
Missile efficiency is key to this list.

The MiG-21 radar is maybe not keeping up with the capabilities of the missile.

The question right now would be if You would prefer to be in a Gripen C With a Meteor,
or in a Rafale with a MICA missile (or Eurofighter with AMRAAM).

hypothetically speaking Super Tomcat 21 :pop:

The Super Tomcat 21 would be a modification of the original F-14 design and it was to feature GE-F110-129 motors that would allow the Tomcat to super-cruise (achieve mach 1+ without using afterburner) continuously at mach 1.3. Additionally, the jet would have an upgraded APG-71 radar, modified and enlarged control surfaces, and enlarged leading edge root extensions (LERX) that would house more fuel and enhance the jet's low speed handling capabilities. Thrust vectoring nozzles tied directly to a new digital flight control system were also an option. These modifications would give the "Turkey Bird" true super-maneuverability and eye-watering acceleration and sustained speed. Additionally, super-cruise combined with its additional internal fuel carriage capacity would have given the Super Tomcat much greater range than it already had. The jet would also be able to carry targeting and navigation pods, giving it true multi-role capability. Finally, a new single-piece windscreen would be added to provide much better forward visibility.

along with a new long range A2A missile

or put a half a dozen Meteors on it.

what about rcs ?

So how the meteor better than the Amram? thanks.
It has a RAMJET allowing much better performance at long range, and the range is longer than the AMRAAM.
The JAS Gripen was selected as the plane to test it out, therefore it is available
now, while the other EuroCanards still have to use older missiles.
Obviously that will change.

I dont think the Rafale, nor the EF has any significant advantage here.

The question is "Which IS", not "Which would be".

well for which is then I would say Su-35 with R-27EA

Su 30MKI. Only because there are two pilots in the cockpit. The awareness in the cockpit, if pilots are well trained can be game changer.

So the Su-30MKI is better than the Su-35?

The MMI in Gripen is one of the strengths of the plane according to Swedish Air Force pilots.
Two pilots and a lousy MMI can be worse.
Hard for outsiders to compare though.
