The description is military dictatorship, not military govt.
Why was he given death sentence by a american friend "friends not master" dictator regime

Muadudi was given death sentence (commuted to life imprisonment few days later) in 1953, Ayub imposed martial law in 1958 .. What are you on about?

General Azam Khan was corps commander Lahore in 1953 when the cabinet imposed martial law in the city to suppress mass anti-Ahmadiyah violence instigated by Niazi and Maududi. Azam Khan was hailed as the saviour of Lahore. Although friends earlier on, Azam Khan was one of the most vocal opponents of Ayub Khan in the 1964/65 presidential elections.

Maududi and his lot instigated the first riots against Ahmedi's. That resulted in the deaths of many people. Instigating and causing riots and killing people was the reason why he was given the death sentence, and it was General Azam, under civilian imposed Martial Law who found him guilty.

Remember this is the man who fought against the creation of Pakistan. This is the man who would call Quaid, Kafir-e-Azam. This is the man who either studied or did not study in the US (very murky)? This is the man whose wife belonged to a rich family, rode bicycles - yet he wanted other men's wives to lead a different life. This group then filled the judiciary with their people. Got in bed with ZA Bhutto, Zia-ul-Haq where they got their real power (especially in how they forced certain elements into the drafting of the constitution). And today's Pakistan and its internal fractions and grouping is in large measure a function of the politics this man gave us, while cheerlead and supported by political expediency of weak leaders in Pakistan.

J-e-Islami people on the other hand are generally good people. God fearing and more than not, good people. Its their leadership that takes them astray, clouds their judgements, and uses then as useful tools (btw some leaders are better than others). I would not the least bit be surprised that J-e-Islami over the years got indirect funding from foreign powers. They were the perfect 5th column, that sowed internal fractions and divisions, and moved our nation into a more backward thinking process, away from global integration and modern education into a cesspool of false religious centric socio backwardness. Their gifts will keep giving for generations to come.

Yes, Maududi was the main reason behind Pakistan's downward spiral into religious fanaticism and exclusivism post Jinnah's death. Read through this thread when you have time to know my views about our very own Mullah in Chief:

You missed a good old Political party of Pakistan
Jamat Ulema e Pakistan

They were active member of Pakistan movement, stood shoulder to shoulder with Qaid e Azzam against those who declared him as kafir and kafir e azzam, called Pakistan movement people as agents, called Pakistan Kafirstan. These scholars and their movement defended Qaida e Azzam and Pakistan movement at their critical movement of time.

At their last conference 1946 Lahore, they declared they will create Pakistan even if Qaida E Azzam backs off (due to pressure)

I understand at the moment the party is weak but their founders should be mentioned by Pakistan state but nobody mentions their contribution to Pakistan. They mobilised millions to attend gatherings and formed part of the grassroot level movement.

JUP is a very different political party. They certainly were a party that supported the creation of Pakistan. Noorani was their leader and he was a good man. We are talking about Maududi - of Jamaat-e-Islami. A very different group.

I am not sure about the party but IK is the least worst politician among all of them.

PTI is the least of all evils in Pakistan. Other two major Parties PPP and PMLN are the most compromised parties of Pakistan with strings in foreign lands. TLP isnt even a party just a bunch of Molvis making a phudu out of people to gather Donations.
