Which country has the best geographical location?

.
The US obviously as it proved in WW2 it is largely isolated from the conflict zones and has coastline on two oceans.

Possibly also places like Brazil because of its water and land resources, largely unaffected by conflict or warzones.

United States. Has a weak neighbor to the south that provides decent slave labor in the form of Mexico. I wouldn't say Canada is weak but it shares similar culture and race with the United States. Canada is also fairly peaceful and shares the same world view as the United States. So, in the recent times and the distant future Canada will not attack United States. On the east and west side is surrounded by ocean. United States is also very rich in natural resources. America has the perfect Geography for empire building or Nation building.

Also America has every type of topography and climate in its country which is also advantageous. With modern farming and irrigation it managed to farm large areas of land that had never been farmed before like the mid west/ southern states. Especially the plain areas of mid west. America can grow any types of food in the world because of this. It also wastes a shit load of food which is unfortunate.

Definitely the United States. And this was proven in both World Wars. Their population remained shielded from the day to day cruelty of war.

I'd disagree about the neighbors. Sure they are friendly/weak now. But the US fought wars with both Mexico and Canada in the past. Their current advantage lies in allying their neighbor's interests with their own. How they managed this is another debate. But my point is if they can do it, so can anyother country.

Island states like Britain and Japan with strong governments has been protected invasions by neighbors across the sea. Some other island countries have not been so lucky.

The US. It has plenty of natural resources (allowing it to develop economically), is separated from most of the world (which has done an excellent job at protecting it from being invaded), contains a large area of land (allowing for plenty of space for humans to thrive in) and the topography/climate of that country varies greatly (it has snow, mountains, desert, forests, etc).

I think Pakistan has the worst location in terms of political geography.

We have neighbors like gullible Indians on the East, banana republic of Afghanistan on the West and crazy Mullahs on the South-West.

We are surrounded by all kinds of war mongers and crazies who would settle on nothing less than the complete annihilation of Pakistan...

I think best location physically dont matter plenty of countries have better location but newzealand kind of alone in world but very successful scandanivian plenty of ice but sucessful iceland also very peaceful..
I think country like Pakistan can be and will be sucessful who have almost everything a country can imagin from mountain to desert plain land to lakes and rivers but once the governence is good which is key to successful country
Why korea singapour qatar is doing good compare to veninzuala and nigeria.
We need strong leadership who govern well and control corruption.

Australia
Good but too isolated. USA wins. Sufficiently distant to give protection but via oceans open to access with two global economic poles that are powerhouses. Western Europe [Atlantic world] on one side, China/Japan [Pacific world] on other. Good as it gets.

China/Japan, South Korea -- USA -- Western Europe, Mediteranean
Australia etc Europe

True but Australia would have been a major power, sadly it played backstage to the Europeans and Americans. A crime in my opinion.

The US is good, but a little risky, sharing 2 massive land borders.

What is a Australian? A Englishman living in the sun. The way you talk is as if they are unique peoples. Majority of Australians are either second, third generation British/Irish descendants.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard migrated with her family from Barry, Glamorgan, Wales in 1966.[13] Her parents hoped the warmer climate would help cure her lung infection.

Another Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, migrated in 1960 under the scheme, although his father had already lived in Australia after arriving at the beginning of the Second World War on a Blue Funnel Liner, and his mother was an Australian expatriate living in Britain at the time of his birth.[14]

England fast bowlers Harold Larwood (in 1950)[15] and Frank Tyson (in 1960) also took advantage of the scheme when they retired from cricket.

The Bee Gees (Gibb brothers) spent their first few years in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester, England, then moved in the late 1950s to Redcliffe in Queensland, where they began their musical careers.[16]

Rule of thumb dictates that countries with a large geographical area are at an advantage. Countries located in temperate regions have often outperformed their tropical counterparts, though life teems more as we move towards the equator. All things considered, i vote for USA.
