Where India stands today on missile technology

While this system is likely to be operational by 2014, there are reportedly plans to extend the coverage further. India has come a long way in terms of missile technology. And the best part is that it has resisted the temptation of smuggling technology or reverse-engineering to have quickfire solutions. It has invested in research and the learning curve is finally beginning to show concrete results.

I remember a post by :- "Oscar" , couple of weeks ago on some thread, his words were almost same as the above para !

I think you should thank teh transparency thats exists in Indian institutions like DRDO that you can even think of making such claims. Indian missiles are 100%..i repeat 100% indigenous with all of the missile (whichever has celared the tests and is inducted/being inducted) has pin point accuracy (as projected and required) with all the missiles passing all other parameters. I shoudnt bring it up, but you should check with other countries if they have such record of 100% indigenous missile programe like India's

Can you please elaborate how many missiles are operational right now with Indian Army......I means really operational, not in news channels.......................as far 100% accuracy as you said.........you must think it again.......:woot:

Nuke-tipped ballistic missiles like Agni-1/2 are under SFC control, not Army.

IA only has Prithvis under immediate control, Agni-3 is also for Army, but is only now getting
deployed.

Prithvi 1, Prithvi 2 , Prithvi 3 , Agni 1 , Agni 2 , Agni 3

The author doesn't appears to have adequate knowledge about Pakistani Missile Systems. All deployed systems have been rigorously tested for development tests and user trials. I bet these figures are equal to, if not greater than, Indian ones.

P.S. Can any Indian member compile similar data about Indian missile tests? Authentic Chronology can be found at nti.org.

OMG not a single failure!!Pakistan should try for the Guiness book of World records for the most successful missile tech on earth.Even the Americans had far too many failures. . . . And despite this these delusional guy's claim that their tech is indigenous!!:woot:

..Well...how would you you expect a proven system ( under a different brand name ) to fail..
....I think pakista Army would go for a 'staged failure' to try to 'prove' it's and it's missile's credibility..

It looks like Pakistani scientists are the best in the world..

No failure in so many launches...~ congrats Pakistanis!!!

The fact that India tests its missiles many more times unlike its neighbour to the west is a testimony to the self-reliance that India’s missile development complexes have developed. Tried and tested technology platforms, whether imported, stolen (pirated) or smuggled, seldom require testing. But things developed from the scratch need to be put under repeated and rigorous tests.
This says it all.

But the problem is and I could conveniently bet on it without any hesitation that they wont succeed in doing so since they are very much unfamiliar with the tech involved in these missiles and wont be able to figure out which part they should dismantle so that the missile test goes wrong somehow and it veers off course but also ensure there's no civilian casualties!!:rofl::rofl:

...Now, don't be so mean...!!! Can't they put the missile upside down and fire..???

On a serious note..I see a ' staged failure' of pakistan missile soon.

Let come to the topic, I believe we have many a miles yet to be covered before we can call ourselves comparable to the best.
SLBM, MIRV are few areas where we need to prove.

If only NESCOM blabbered like DRDO, you guys would've known the failures. Wanna know the difference? Pakistan still gets to surprise the world :pakistan:

I never mentioned in the post that all of them were successful. But trolling is fun, eh?

I think India at the 6th place of the world

1.usa
2.Rassia
3.China
4.France
5.UK
6.India, pak, Japan, Israel can't say who is the better

First of all I agree with top 3. USA, russia and China, no doubt.

Uk and Isreal is no where on the scene. They are an american puppy. America has no restrictions on them for weapons. Their trident is not theirs not even 1%. Isreal doesn't have any true proved Icbms, only speculations. And everyone even if they actually have long range ICBMs where they are getting it from.

India and france will come on 4th because these countries develop their own system with minimum help from abroad. India developed it under sanctions. Today our missiles are as advanced as the world with top notch communications.

Now Pakistan. except 2 missiles, rest of their lot is 1970s chinese liquid fuelled junk, with old gen communications.
