It is not obvious that the late father of your friend did anything illegal at all. The part that you described is completely non-lethal in nature and of nearly zero commercial value.
Most retired aircraft get sold as scrap any way after they are stripped/dismantled. The lethal parts like guns etc are carefully removed and do not get disposed off outside the service. The scrap buyers are only interested in the metal which gets recycled. Most aircraft become pressure cookers or cooking pots and pans. So; a good deal of the cooking ware in Pakistan is courtesy the PAF! Please rember that while eating your next Neehari or Biryani.....
Sometimes; some distinguished Ex-Servicemen are even gifted bits and pieces of hardware (non-lethal and non-valued) as keep-sakes.
An ex-CNS of the IN (from our family) got four brass scuttles (portholes) which he fitted in his home as well as the "speaking-tube/Voice-Pipe" from the old cruiser INS Delhi/HMS Achilles in his home after she was scrapped apart from some other knick-knacks. After all he had distinguished himself in her Command in two tenures.

Part of an old IAF drop tank was turned in to an oven by my father (the strongest oven that I've ever seen) and part of it became the lamp housing for a larger format (4" x 5") Photographic Enlarger!

Yes they do, it was stripped off an old aircraft if i remember correctly, he had the stick and his dads old flight suit, helmet and some paraphernalia in his house in London when we last met.

Then i think he should deserved a court martial for stealing the private property of pakistan air force.

He did not 'steal' it. This is not usual, but normal. Many others do too, senior officers on their retirement get some souvenirs of the aircraft they flew. I have seen others (well one other) with a throttle.

Sadly, the WWII era crafts are mostly all gone. Some were even donated to other countries' museums. Haven't even seen the Supermarine Attackers any where. I'm guessing the culture of preserving a few examples of one's retired aircraft came about a little late in Pakistan. And since when it did we have seen them parked virtually everywhere.

F-6 in AHQ Islamabad, Murree, Westridge RWP, Rahwali Cantt Gujranwala, Jehlum Cannt (near chaauni chowk), Outside Mianwali AB, outside old F-6 ARF (PAC Kamra), 2 in Sargodha (main GT road and in base), in Kornagi creek AB, in Lahore, GIK university near Tabela (and in Taxila I guess as well). And over 2 dozen outside PAF base Faisal, Karachi.

FT-5 outside MureedK AB, in Mushaf AB, PAC Kamra.

F-86 in Mianwali (Jhaaz chowk), Kalbagh station, Muree, few in PAF school/colleges.
Mirages in Masroor, Rafiqui (thats a unique one) and Mushaf AB.

Also some F6s were give to Bangladesh and some L19s and Harvards were sold to collectors in the US. Most are sold as scrap. Some can be seen parked on bases especially at Peshawar and Masroor. There are rumours that some F6s have been converted to drones to be used for confusing enemies radars.

Hahahaha) Really funny how a F6 can be converted into a drone .With the old technology in F6 i think there is no way to fly an F6 without pilots.Or may be someone wish to die for confusing enemy radars

You could, after all... F-86s, F-100's and all these old aircraft fly as drones. And all these aircraft are of the same timeframe as the F-6. Drones existed since 1917(used for training Ship gunners) as such.. now what do you have to say?

There's an F-6 parked at Hassan Abdal too, inside the cadet college. Then there are some F-86s in Lahore, one of which was flown by M.M. Alam, I think. It would be a task to document where all the types are parked since they're virtually everywhere.

I found this at the PIA's forums. It's supposed to be a "Collection of All sabres on display". But you'll have to import it into google earth.

On top of what Oscar said, converting old aircraft into drones is pretty easy and cheap. You just have a very large RC plane that's all.

Though many people in 2005 or so has put an advised that all of the PAF older equipment should be recycled as it can then be used to make JF-17 or can be sold in international market for good price and this can be done to Helicopters that are operated by PN and PA.

Also I think Army should also look towards it too.
