True, ancient pre-Abrahamic (themselves Semitic) Semitic religions were followed. The same religions and Gods that were worshipped in ancient Arabia, ancient Mesopotamia, ancient Levant, ancient Egypt, basically the pre-Islamic Arab world/Middle East.

The first monotheists where those who kept Prophet Ibrahim's (AS) teachings intact regarding monotheism but later most people went astray and only a minority of Hanifs remained at the time of Prophet Muhammad (saws), other than the already existing communities of local Christians, Jews etc.

BTW the earliest recorded religions in the world were all polytheistic in nature and probably the even older religions that were never recorded in all parts of the world, were polytheistic as well with people worshipping various elements of nature and having gods of war, fertility, nature etc. regardless where in the world.

I can't say about 27th Feb because I am an advocate of two republics ( Ind and Pak ) with the same Progressive political system. Much like Syria and pre-2003 Iraq with the Baath movement in both countries governing them.
