Nobody asked you to build infrastructure, your companies are doing business and bidding in the projects.. we are just going by WTO guidelines and are not banning companies from one particular country.. Do you want us to do that? More over, when you build some thing in India and use bad quality stuff.. You Chinis will be behind bars in no time.. This happened in recent past if you remember.. So nobody will be stupid enough to do something stupid when you are in not so friendly country..

Kamal Nath seeks Chinese investment in J&K, North East highways - Times Of India

Visiting minister of roads and highways Kamal Nath on Wednesday assured Chinese companies that India was ready for investments in highway projects in all regions including border areas including Jammu and Kashmir and the North East.

He even offered to help them address concerns over legal limits on equity investments in Indian road companies. China's state owned investment firms have requested that they be treated on par with investors from Singapore.

The move comes soon after sharp differences erupted between the two countries over China's reluctance to give a visa to an Indian military general based in Jammu and Kashmir and the controversy over Chinese investments in the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

Nath, who met his counterpart Li Shenglin, heard requests that two Chinese investors, China Investment Corporation and Social Security Fund, should be treated as separate entities for the purpose of implementing the cap on 10% equity investment as per the SEBI rules.


He offered to take up the request with other ministries in New Delhi. The minister is due to attend his second meeting to seek investments at the Chinese coastal city of Tianjin tomorrow.

India has recently awarded a project to a Chinese joint venture in Jammu & Kashmir and there was no objection to more investments in highways in this State as well as the North Eastern areas, Nath said.

"The government of India cleared [the project in Jammu and Kashmir] from a security point of view," he said. "We have no such concerns...We awarded the contract because Chinese involvement is in terms of investment, project management and technology. They were not sending people there to dig roads, so there was no issue."

The new visa rules allowed only foreign workers with specialized technical skills to work on Indian projects, which is why there was not much problem with additional Chinese investments, he said.

Several Chinese firms, including CGGC, CEC, Gezhouba Water and Power and JTEC are involved in highway projects in India, he pointed out.

1) Our exported goods in 2010 were worth more than India's ENTIRE GDP for the same year. And that is only exported goods, not total manufacturing which is several times larger.

3) They ask Chinese companies to build Indian infrastructure, thereby putting the lives of millions of their own citizens at risk, due to "cheap Chinese quality".

Being a superpower is about the ability to persuade a block of countries to side with you on international politics and security issues. China doesn't have this ability because China has no friend but Pakistan and Iran.

Any country, big or small should be able to persuade a block of countries to side with you if what you are doing is positive.

Just being a superpower does not grant you this right. Unless you also agree that Korea and Japan are running dogs for US ? US says and Korea and Japan follows ?????

1."Super power" is a state/status that nations either endeavor to achieve or descend from. The stay in that state is not very long. USSR/Russia has descended from this state. All by herself Russia does not have the potential to climb to that level. America has been there post-WW II, but her powers/authority/prowess/credibility has reached a level from which there seems to be no climb but only a descent.

2. China, on the other hand, has seen a steady rise in her reputation/respectability/credibility. She is definitely rising to a level of "super power" status. In fact she is now only second to USA in all considerations of that status. The difference between the two is that USA is already there but seems to have stagnated for a decline, whereas China is moving up and up.

Did you know what it was like in the 30's and 40's? Chinese were still looked on as the opium smoking, gambling sick man of Asia that gets pushed around by everyone. In 1950, under Mao, Chinese forces went head to head in a 1 on rest of the world war. We fought the entire UN excluding Russia and won.

No one ever associated opium smoking and gambling with Chinese again.

If we are exporting more than India's GDP then it has to be high quality. Then the evil world-wide media must be doing the usual propaganda when they post articles like below and it's funny that almost all the countries have issues with Chinese products. I am not even going to talk about High quality Fake Eggs and Plastic rice.. Every body will be ashamed if they see these innovative Chini products and then call them of Low quality..


Chini products are imported because of cheap prices nothing else. so i am not surprised if someone order Indian Flag and some religious statues from China.. The imported flag costs Rs 1 and that's why probably people bought those during Anna's movement.

Also Nobody asked chini companies to build any infrastructure. The chini companies requested to be treated at par with Singapore and other countries.. But is it really possible to treat them at par with Japanese/Singapore/Korea etc?? Kamal Nath is a diplomat that's probably why he didn't laugh on your face..
