10 Awe Inspiring Moments When Pakistani Soldiers Stood Guard At Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation In 1953
By

England’s Monarchy is the second oldest, dating back to the Middle Ages. Its home is Buckingham Palace. The changing of the guards for the reigning monarchy has always been a colorful event that is full of ceremony that has been maintained over the ages.
Back in 1953, after the creation of Pakistan in 1947, a contingent of Pakistani soldiers took over guard duty at Buckingham Palace for the Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation that took place on June 2 of 1953. The Changing of the guard ceremony took place prior to that.
A young Pakistani Army was since then classified as capable and strong because such a responsibility fell on their soldier on such a big day for English Royalty.

Did you even know that Pakistani Soldiers had ever been a part of the Changing The Guard Ceremony at Buckingham Palace and especially on such an occasion?
This is nothing to be proud of.. Is this thread started on purpose to humiliate Pakistan?
And Queen Elizabeth II was still the head of state of Pakistanwe werent a republic in '53. we were still a dominion of the Empire back then. the army was Royal Pakistan Army, the navy was Royal Pakistan Navy, same case with the air force.
That is another matter how we deal with them, we are terrible at serving our interests we usually throw ourselves away for otherswe have been seing the results of our "international relations" with "superpowers" for 70 yrs. they used us and discarded us.
Removing "every single dirty Brit systems"? So, 1 step forward, 2 back? How do you propose we take these steps? Which new system should we implement? One thing is for sure. Pakistan NEVER fought for independence, it was a gift by british empire to westernized muslim elites to enslave majority of sub continent muslims. We label Saudi royal faimly for being american puppets or Afghan government for being Indian puppets yet we forget to look at our self because we live in denial!
Not saying India snatched their land from the jaws of mighty brits infact they were also part of British empire exit strategy!
What pakistan needs to work on is kick out every single dirty brit systems that were left over for us to consume!

Not cool at all. I'll consider it cool if british soldiers attend our pm president's ceremonies one day.
Great Britain loot all its colonial. They treated all their non white subject with contempt. Non white subject are not allow to serve certain higher position. Non white are not allow to do or board trains reserve for so called superior whites. Ask Gandhi. It's just soldiers doing their job with a country that is no longer hostile with Pakistan. What's the big issue? We aren't cleaning the Queen's shoes or anything like that, there is no "humiliation".

Serving these master is a big mistake and also due to the ignorant during that times. It is something not worth commemorate but not forget.
Yes but these soldiers are part of the commonwealth contingent planned by UK. There is different between guest march pass and guards of coronation for queen. This isn't from the colonial times, Pakistan was an independent nation during this procedure. It's merely a gesture of goodwill given to a country that had (and still has to some extent) cordial relations with us.
