Remember the attack late November 2015 in Bamako, the attackers came from the west side of the Radisson Blu Hotel. They had suitcases. They opened them and took automatic weapons out of them and shot at the security agents before heading to the hall to make a bloodbath... 21 people, including the terrorists were killed with several foreigners... russians, chinese, american, belgian etc..

A detachment of french special forces was deployed by air from the neighboring country, what must be remembered is the decisive action of the french special forces. At least two units specialized in counter-terrorism and hostage rescue missions were present this day to neutralize the terrorists, the 1st Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment and the Commandos Marine.

This is where we saw the determinant role of the SAS operators of the 1st RPIMA during the neutralization of the terrorists and the rescue of many hostages, confirming the CTLO (Counter-terrorism and hostage rescue) capabilities of the regiment up to the event.

During the assault, one of the terrorists fired from upstairs on the operators column who were climbing stairs, and one of the soldier took an kalachnikov bullet (7,62 x 39) on his ops-core helmet, and this is this helmet that saved his life,if he wore another helmet during this action,he wouldn't probably have survived and went back home...

I love these stories. The advancement of equipment is essential to save the lives of soldiers.

@Vergennes I have always wondered how effective these helmets are - I guess modern helmets do offer incredible protection. Pity the inept Colonel Pitts (Larry Hagman) was not wearing one of these helmets or he would have survived the shot from the German agent in the movie "The Eagle Has Landed" 1976.

I really liked that movie and even more liked Oberst Kurt Stiener's (Michael Caine) Luftwaffe leather jacket.

going by the rupture profile on the curvature of helmet, it looks like it is made of some composite fiber and then the internal woven black material is definitely Kevlar.
The soldier must be eternally grateful for his head gear, that took such a mighty blow and saved his life.

Great movie. You have good taste sir.

I wont ever forget the organ playing scene.

The small moments of normalcy in the ocean of warfare that was WW2 is a theme I much appreciate.

"The Pianist" had one at the ending too if I remember correctly.

@PARIKRAMA @Abingdonboy Correct me if I am wrong.

but after some quick research I found ;

The Indian Army currently uses the Model 1974 Helmets as the standard issue for any Infantry Soldier. These are composite fiber glass helmets. The interior features a nylon suspension liner and is lined with green plastic. A neck flap is attached to the liner and features a buckle chinstrap along with a set of ear flaps. These are indigenously made in India.

On the other hand, some units in India use the israeli-built OR-201 helmets among the others...

The Para regiments use Israel-built OR-201 Helmets. These are made of GRP(Glass Reinforced Plastic). They are lightweight and effective in stopping a 9mm round at close range.

1400 USD per helmet (Ops-Core FAST), but well worth the cost when the results speak for themselves like that.

They're surprisingly comfortable for a combat helmet too and support as sorts of goodies.

And anyone want to guess what nation owns Ops-Core:D?

Lemme guess ? Norge (Norway) through NFM ? Because our helmets (and some uniforms) were bought from there basically.
NFM,btw is to deliver more than 8.000 modular load carriage and protection vests between 2016-2018 to the french army.
