WhatsApp will Stop Working on Smartphones Running Old OS After Dec 30. Yes it is true. If your smartphone is running an outdated operating system then by the end if 2016, WhatsApp will stop working on it. So, either you have to buy a new smartphone with latest Operating System or you have to update your phone to latest OS.

All the devices running Android 2.1 and 2.2 will no longer be able to use WhatsApp. Moreover, WhatsApp will also not work on Windows Phone 7 operating software. WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app and working for last seven years. Now company announced that WhatsApp will not work on old phones having outdated hardware and operating system.

WhatsApp said in a blog post:

“If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp,”

Earlier this year, the popular messaging app announced that it will not provide support for BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60. Also the outdated operating system especially Android 2.1 and Android 2.2, Windows Phone 7 by end of 2016.

But later on company announced that it will extend its support to BlackBerry and Nokia devices till June 2017. which means WhatsApp will Stop Working on Smartphones running Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 OS.

Hi there! I have it koi derh sal se bdlnay ka socha hai ...but I just love it it was a gift from my uncle and I had it when lumia's weren't famous I love it to the extent k aaj tk windows hi update nhi ki

I have Lumia 535 and it works perfectly with Windows 10. You should definitely upgrade your operating system for getting your hands on new features. I like my Lumia as well.

I got Nokia Lumia 900 see nokia range doesn't exist right now but believe me it's just like nokia 3310 when it comes to durability It once fell through the stairs and still not a scratch Alhamdolillah

I have 900 and it upgrades to 8.1 only but I never really tried to upgrade

Mein 256mb waley phone ki baat kar raha hoan waisey logoan nay to kit kat tak callibrate kiya hay 256mb kay liye but mein nay itney chotey phone par try nahi kiya kabhi
