BHAGAT SINGH is the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement.

Born at Chak No. 105, Banga village, Jaranwala Tehsil, Lyallpur district(now Faisalabad), Punjab,Pakistan.

Ancestors hailed from the village of Khatkar Kalan near the town of Banga in Nawanshahr district Punjab,india.

Studied from National College, Lahore.where he met Lala Lajpat Rai

Killed John Saunders in revenge for the death of Lala Lajpat Rai.

Together with Batukeshwar Dutt, he throw two bombs inside the Central Legislative Assembly while shouting Inquilab Zindabad.Subsequently they volunteered to surrender and be arrested.

He underwent a 116 day fast in jail, demanding equal rights for British and Indian political prisoners.

Singh was hanged on 23 March 1931 (age 23) in Lahore jail with his fellow comrades Rajguru and Sukhdev

He was a sikh but later became Atheist ,in Lahore Jail he wrote a pamphlet entitled "Why I am an Atheist"

Singh was influenced by Marxism.he was one of the early Marxists in India.
In his prison notebooks, he quoted Vladmir Lenin in reference to imperialism & capitalism and also revolutionary thoughts of Trotsky.When asked what his last wish was, Singh replied that he was studying the life of Lenin and he wanted to finish it before his death.
