Whats up with the Trend #NoDamOnIndusRiver??

Incompetence and utter failure of the ruling establishment/state of Pakistan in the past leading to problems in the country which in turn gives rise to division and infighting. This is how to break a nation.

Morons of the nth degree..Sindh is facing drought because we don't have dams in the first play. Water is getting wasted...

Except from an article from 2018.

Water politics

The Tarbela and Mangla dams, the country's two major water reservoirs, reached their "dead" levels last week, according to media reports. The news sparked a debate on social media over the inaction of authorities in the face of this crisis.

"We have only two big reservoirs and we can save water only for 30 days. India can store water for 190 days whereas the US can do it for 900 days," Muhammad Khalid Rana, a spokesman for the Indus River System Authority (IRSA), told DW.

"Pakistan receives around 145 million acre feet of water every year but can only save 13.7 million acre feet. Pakistan needs 40 million acre feet of water but 29 million acre feet of our floodwater is wasted because we have few dams. New Delhi raised this issue with international bodies, arguing that it should be allowed to use the western rivers because Pakistan can't use them properly," Rana said."

1000% Technically and financially best idea was to build Kalabagh dam.
It will irrigate thousands of hectars of land and stop flash flooding.

yes

cost of construction

cost of excavation

cost in time ?

x4-5 vs kalabagh

and you get no irrigation canals

dumb idea.. waste of money ...

but this is what was expected of this weak and compromised govt anyway

This darn is more important than any other dam. Stop creating controversy out of everything. This dam is right at top and will reduce Indian water terrorism which hit the north before reaching the central or southern parts devastating everything. And due to this we will be able to store water instead of wasting it for destroying entire North.

Don't give publicity to such traitorous tweets op. These are enemies moles who have just received their lifafa from Bharti terrorists yesterday.

Pakistan must speed up the construction of this dam instead of delaying and making it another controversy.

We are such dumb nation that we rather die in floods, destroy our fertile lands and crops and throw water in sea but not let the govt take such initiative just because of our political bias.

THERE is no indian dam upstream of tarbela on INDUS river that can cause flooding in N areas

Commies and Sindudesh retards cannot stop the construction of dam.

Incompetence and utter failure of the ruling establishment/state of Pakistan in the past leading to problems in the country which in turn gives rise to division and infighting. This is how to break a nation.

These elements were always present. Just like ANP and BLA, Sindhudesh and commies are present in Pakistan. This is the time to tackle them all.

If these elements claim that Pakistan oppresses them we should actually go about oppressing them. Isolate them. Hunt them and oppress them as hard as possible. Send them to exile.

Commies and separatists need to be taken to task. The state should not tolerate such elements. The fact that we have allowed these elements to flourish in Pakistan is a calamity in itself. It is a monster that needs slaying.

Build the dam with utmost priority and clamp down very hard on the critics. These Bhutto is alive fanatics would rather have their children die in Thar desert. Just notice how they are up in arms about a dam that is going to provide water and avoid Indian water terrorism threat. Have you ever seen these Twitter warriors shed a tear for babies dying in Sindh due to lack of water? Sindh is the most impoverished province of Pakistan. It puts Balochistan to shame. This despite Sindhis having their leaders rule over Pakistan many times. Yet these bastards have the audacity to blame armed forces and aliens. What have the Sindhi leaders ever done for Sindh?

Such Twitter warriors can only vent their frustration through social media. They are failures. They don’t want to move forward. They don’t have any solutions. They are cynical retards. Filled with anger and frustration. They have no hope nor any sense of belonging. They are pessimists when the day begins. They are pessimists when the day ends. Let them burn in anger. The state needs to move forward full steam ahead. Ignore these irrelevant fools.

Forget about my emotions, had there been this dam, Pakistan would've saved about 43 billion $ it lost in 2010 after downstream Indus flooding. You control the source from the top to mitigate the damage, not downstream when the damage has already hit the vast region. Stop playing politics and controversy over any development.

no thats not the case sea water erosion is causing massive damage at indus river delta
It is the same all over the world. You need science, R&D to mitigate the issues. Rising seas and human settlements on the deltas will destroy them long before dams do. Unfortunately we all know the results.

River deltas are complex systems of interrelated ecologic, social, and economic components. Their vulnerability is a function of not only the processes occurring within the delta, but also by external processes originating from the ocean, upstream areas, the subterranean, as well as from overall climate. The physical and biological changes that deltas experience over time, whether natural or human-induced, are not fully understood or predictable and hence challenge those attempting to manage them. For example, agriculture, industrial and urban developments in deltas consists of interdependent components and processes that bind multiple cities, economic activities, socio-political organizations, water supply and transportation infrastructure and environmental factors together into one big complex, and often poorly understood, system. Quantification and modeling of cause and effect relationships among components that simultaneously sustain deltaic wetlands as well as urban ecosystems coupled with the uncertainty and subjectivity of human behavior is a challenge. This motivates continued research to better understand the impacts of alternative management plans and policies on the sustainability of developed deltas
