In one piece? Probably hidden in a tanker
you may have never seen documentory of F-14 to iran . usa worked many years to build a city for f14 in iran there was all basic needs filfulled before first f-14 was arrived it was multi billion project of that time . iran can operate f-14 with that support for many many years to come .In one piece? Probably hidden in a tanker
Well they said the same thing about F-14 and then Iran made their own spare parts
iran already have f-16 .
We can upgrade them. It won't be stealthy, but it will be useful for improving our fleet against neighboring adversaries.I say its not worth flying 25 year old aircraft with Venezuela being in process of switching to another supplier like China or Russia at this point
And where do you plan to get inherently stealthy designed jet fighters now? What would the f-16 offer Iran? It is a relatively outdated platform. Inherent stealthy designs which are of larger size is what Iran needs right now.
Anything can be reverse-engineered as long as you are willing to spend enough time and money on it.F-16 IS NOT F-14 you always need US help to keep them air worthy
Are you talking about just one F-16? I think we need many of them.In one piece? Probably hidden in a tanker

Probably not. One or two F16s were delivered to Iran before the 1979 revolution.Surely that must be photoshopped

Yes, but we depended on the US for supplying spare parts. The US refused to provide Iran with spare parts and armaments after the revolution and destroyed its fleet of F14s / upgraded them to F17s in 2006 to prevent Iran from accessing their spare parts in the black market.you may have never seen documentory of F-14 to iran . usa worked many years to build a city for f14 in iran there was all basic needs filfulled before first f-14 was arrived it was multi billion project of that time . iran can operate f-14 with that support for many many years to come .
Such as?Not focusing on the fact Iran is working on such designs itself (refer to the recent interview with airforce chief) there are nations Iran could obtain such technologies from.
the question is not to having my dear sir the question is air worthy / ready to combat / up to date / capable .Venezuela has had F-16 without any US support for years. If Venezuela can do it, Iran can do it.
Such as?
We all know that Iran's main problem for producing a jet fighter is the engine. Do you think Russia or China would agree to a ToT for turbofan engines and stealth technology?
but they support USA already provided to iran before revolution was more then enough to operate them for many years . i have seen full documentary of support mission and it was huge iranians learnt almost everything of tomcats many years from USA . hundreds of US staff was based in iran for support training and tech .Yes, but we depended on the US for supplying spare parts. 14 years after that, our F14s are still flying.

please reverse engineered an F-22 raptor ? its hard work and money of centuries sometime to give you this tech ,We can upgrade them. It won't be stealthy, but it will be useful for improving our fleet against neighboring adversaries.

I know. And what happened to Shafagh? Is it in service? No. The project is really old. I think it was something that we planned to do together with Russians in 2007 or maybe even before that. Did it ever materialize?Iran and Russia already had an ongoing project, called Shahfaq. As far as transfer of technology is concerned, we are not privy to such information. Moreover, these are beside the point. Whether they can help Iran with such technology or nor does not alter the fact that F-16 has little to offer to Iran. If Iran has to go the way by itself, then so be it.
Yes, I have seen the documentary you talk about. But no, even in the last years of the Iraq-Iran war, our F14s were in bad shape. Many of the AIM-54 Phoenix missiles we had bought were not operable anymore.but they support USA already provided to iran before revolution was more then enough to operate them for many years . i have seen full documentary of support mission and it was huge iranians learnt almost everything of tomcats many years from USA . hundreds of US staff was based in iran for support training and tech .
