What's new

What would China be like today if the Nationalists had won the Chinese Civil War?

Thanks my japanese friend , i don't know much about the second world war in asia , but like you said the commies are cowards , i 100% agree.

There's a reason why Communism is dead. What really is left? China? The country is not Communist at all, it has abandoned most of the bolshevik communist ideologies that it was founded upon. The country has, at best, is a socialist authoritarian capitalist-focused government. USSR? It collapsed in 1991. North Korea? Its not really communist but a monarchical absolute monarchy in the form of "communist ideology". Cuba? Come on, they just opened a US embassy this month and are now opening to capitalism. Venezuela? LOL.

Communism is dead. Capitalism is King.

The best path is the middle path , like the path japan has already taken :)

Precisely, make friends with all, don't close doors to cooperation. Unfortunately our neighbor to our west (China) tend to hold a very splitting personality when it comes to Japan. O well. Their loss.

Meanwhile, Tokyo and Tehran are culminating a new relationship focus that will see Tokyo-Tehran relations rise to new heights, like a Golden Phoenix risen from its slumber.

Buried up to your neck in debt with a declining economy and aging population?
i'm sure they're gonna fare well , maybe not as well as they did during the second world war , but still they're gonna manage

There was actually a time that Emperor Hirohito even warned the Japanese Government that KMT would form an alliance with Nazi Germany , Italy. In fact, during early 1930s, the Nazis even considered asking KMT China to join the Tripartite Treaty.

Once the Communists started waging war in the countryside, the Germans, and the Italians reconsidered, and invited Japan instead.
Becuase Hitler knew KMT was useless so they changed their mind. Stupid fools here who think KMT is better for China are probably Vietnamese, Japanese and indians.

It was the perception of weakness, the civil war with the communist spread that. I mean, look at you? You're living in the west, Canada , which isn't communist at all. I mean, i'm sure your parents moved you to Canada to find a better life yes? The capitalist Canada. Aren't you an accountant in Canada?

Canada is one of the most socialist country in the world. My parents time were different.

Its capitalist , with semi-socialist policies. Heck even US is becoming socialist, ergo Obamacare, pro-union policies, civil rights, gay rights, transgender rights, etc etc. Who said capitalism can't work with socialist policies? lol.

Dude, its just your parents' generation, its also in our generation. We all came to the West (US/Canada) for the opportunity. Canadian Dollar, American Dollar; is king. Lots of opportunities in the west; jobs, education, real estate, property, natural wonders, people, civil liberties, powerful passport.

Come on.

I left Japan for USA for a reason. And I've been to Canada, been to GTA, been to the Pacific Mall. Plenty of ABCs, CBCs. ;)

Doubt that they would have suppressed the Chinese. In fact, the Chinese were the original preferred 'partner' by Germany and the United States. Once China went 'commie', the proverbial fecum hit the fan.

Behind the stage there is only:
- can i benefit from this country? So support it but dont let it become strong and independent. Else destroy it. (As far as i have the required power to do so.)

I dont see the reason why the USA would let China rise to become a major competitor. They wont share their cake, nobody would without benefit.

I watched a documentary, an American woman (i think she was a journalist) in China at that time was astonished how some KMT told her that the Chinese beggar she saw wasn't human, no need to bother with him. She was not surprised the Communist eventually won and kicked the KMT out.
oh, then the primal chinese communist ideology has changed alot.

So pessimistic aren't you? Btw, hows the Chinese stock market doing after the rout? I hear...not so good?

Up 50% from last years value in the same period, and an economy more than twice the size of Japan. Oh did I mention China's economy is still growing unlike Japan?

U MAD?

Those were pretty strong words you used, @Nihonjin1051. I hope you don't mind to clarify once again (like here: Despite the WWII past, can China and Japan be real friends?) before a s__tstorm breaks out which can needlessly drag down the quality of the discussion.

Just asking another thing: How about not intervening or participating in the mud-slinging contests at all and make use of the Ignore and Report function instead, Herr Nihonjin?
