What to Eat in Iran: 7 Essential Persian Dishes [PIC]

Yes, it's one of those dishes that you either absolutely love or simply don't like. It's quite hard to get the sour-sweet balance just right.

I have to say, I have never been invited by a professor. You lucky man. :D Iranians are very hospitable people. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
Here Gomereh Sabji is always mixed with Lamb ... !!
The most recent Iranian food i tried was Bandari Sausages !! it was amazing ,, :)

touche.. well said

and by the way I dont like Turkish donnar kebab either. whatever its origin is
as for Origin, like I said I dont really care because sometimes a certain kind of food cuisine is discovered simultaneously in neighbouring areas with minor alterations as the traders , soldiers and travellers travelled around the countries

for me it was a the first time to see tomato roasted with meat on the skews served with Naan or Naan and Kherbuza eaten together.
naan with Kherbuza !! what black magic is this !!

.
interesting .....................zoroastrian ????
Me not just stating the fact and history ....Turk got exited about Kabab but failed to mention that they consider Molana the Iranian poet which doesn't have one poem in Turkish language as a Turk poet while he himself says :

My entire knowledge on Turkish language is I know "su" means water ....

You ever have the bharti paneer kebab? That's also a delicious alternative to meat.

But kebab is not kebab without meat. Sorry to say.
I had the same belief but I was converted along with few more meat eaters in a company gathering where we ditched the beef burgers and went for the vegie burgers. the "vegie" kebab or buger itself was succulent, chewy and tasty something which your receptors associate with a tasty meaty dish. but I wont stress on it. its down to personal preferences.

re your question. I did check out the paneer kebab and other associated dishes like eaten saag Paneer as well. hats off to their creativity with vegetables and lentils . I know adding meat can really work wonders with every food and its hard to make a bad meat dish.

Sosis bandari :smitten::smitten:
I love that so much.
I usually make it when I am hungry at night, around 8-9am. It's divine.

trust me bhai sahib.. I was amazed too but given the weather and heat.. it made sense avoiding oily thick curry and staying on fruit with only naan or naan and green tea..

Dude, what is your name and how old are?

You live in Canada or US?

Sorry to be intrusive, but it sounds like you are a child, and then sometimes you sound like a grown adult.

have you ever had a nice vegetarian kebab or burger?
I have a fortune of having few and it can convert any hardcore meat eater.

on topic
I mostly found Iranian dishes to be bland but the taste buds change over age. I last visited back in mid 80s via taftan. but Iranian dishes are simple and healthy as well.

yeah bro veg kebabs are tasty too but here in Iranians kebabs are served with rice its unusual for me but looks tempting for sure
