Houthis are extremely hardcore. Unless the US gets involved, Saudi Arabia can't beat Houthis.
Well, the ground realities prove otherwise. Using that logic the US cannot defeat the Taliban after 16 years of fighting since they control most of Afghanistan. Anyway KSA does not care if the Houthi terrorist cult controls some mountain villages. If locals want to be ruled by highly incompetent individuals that have accomplished nothing it is their choice. Their relatives will continue to flock to KSA in order to earn a living. Yemen is totally dependent on KSA and nothing will change that in the immediate future. People of Southern Yemen have been calling for joining KSA in a federation since time immortal.
What is the policy and what has almost been accomplished is rendering them useless and harmless. Not much must be done in this regard, they are doing that themselves already by going against the biggest political party in Yemen (Saleh's party), his family (his son Ahmed controlled/largely controls the Yemeni Republican Guard) and now they will side against the Houthi terrorist cult.
Yemenis under Houthi terrorist control are having a very hard time unlike Yemenis living in the liberated areas. All those grievances will eventually do the work on its own. Nowhere in the region has a terrorist group/militia ever succeeded ruling as large a country (Yemen is the size of Iraq and Syria put together), as populous (30 million) and as complex a country as Yemen.
Did I mention the tribal aspect? Saleh was allied to some of the largest tribes in Yemen. Many of the tribes have already joined the front in Ma'rib and declared their intention to fight the Houthi terrorist cult.

You keep dreaming. One of the few constant things in this region in the past 100 years, is KSA (the largest state by far in the region) being stable and prospering more for each year. Riding every storm in its way. That won't change. Now KSA is directly involved in a war of a unprecedented size and complexation (I am not talking about Syria or Iraq here since no regional country is really involved outside of Syria and Iraq themselves and they are fighting in their own countries, not foreign lands) that no regional country has experienced since the outdated Iraq-Iran war that occurred 40-30 years ago. Gaining invaluable experience in the process with minimal casualties.
