actually,USA lost/damaged handful of tanks due to friendly fire and if I remember properly and which has been broadcasted in History Channel Program,few more to T-72 Variants(Lion of Babylon Perhaps).but its a hand down victory for USA..

Good for China if they learned from that and changed their doctrine/focus. On the other hand, it seems we are still following "boots on the ground" doctrine for defence of our motherland, despite huge disadvantage in numbers, capability and technology in air warfare.

In my opinion we need to do three things to increase our chances of success in any future encounter

- Shift focus from defence to offensive defense - use enemy territory as playing field and our own as strategic depth
- Focus on Air force as our spearhead both for offensive and defensive strategies
- Create an independent command for special operations ( a hookup between ISI and SOP's) controlled directly from the top
- Combine the all five commands (PA, PAF, PN, SPD, & SOP's) in to one, let there be separate commands for administrative purposes but one unified command for war planning and execution
