What our textbooks don't tell us: Why the Rajputs failed miserably in battle for centuries

Let me say i am not a Rajput in real life, but i love their attitude riding into battle to win or die.
I cannot understand where did this Honour thing came into Rajputs( of fighting till death),When Chanakya came into picture much before them
Well Rajputs are none other than Hephthalites (White Huns/Sveta Huna) from central asia who merged with gujjars, they were warriors from the very beginning.
Valor with disregard to consequences came easy to rajputs, and I respect them for it but I must admit they had a huge problem within themselves (to an extent that sometimes the rajputs appeared to be hypocritical and talks of bravery appeared shallow, but i will refrain from discussing it here on this forum).

Tell me one single Hindu ruler who destroyed a hundred mosques let alone thousands!I am telling you,you won't find anybody despite the fact that both Maratha and Vijaynagar empire had a significant muslim minority within their population. On the other hand this bigot Aurangzeb single handedly destroyed ore than 200,000 temples all around the country just for fun.Heck, you guys still bring on the topic of the Babri Masjid destruction every now and then even though it was nothing but an isignificant mosque which was abandoned by your community a couple of hundred years before,so imagine our anger considering the fact that our holiest temples like Somnath,Kashi Vishwanath and Lord Krishna temple in Vrindavan(Mathura) were destroyed and razed to the ground on multiple times during the course of history by different Islamic rulers:coffee:.
So you are a religious rightist? well i am not
I dont care of some building destruction on some religious basis nor i ever said a word on Babri mosque.
Tell me the Genocide that Muslim rulers did on indian population and the brutality that was above normal compared to rulers of that time in other regions. Dont bring in temples and mosques.

If time is not considered a factor then Tipu sultan fits the bill. Tipu sultan was on notorious jihad in Kerala. I hope you've heard of his territorial annexations and forced mass conversions.
I don't want to belittle his achievements but this hero had a dark side too.

Is everyone who claim to be rajput is a rajput?I have seen pure white skinned rajputs with central Asian features and rajputs with dark skin and south Asian facial features. I know rajputs have assimilated with locals and there is bound to be change in their looks...but how could there be two extremes of people of same group that too within 2000 years?

There 're indeed 2 types of Rajputs
1)The leaders and nobles from sveta huns( Hephthalites) assimilated into the Kshatriya clan of hindu varna system through conversion. Since hindus dont believe in conversion (a hindu is born hindu by birth) thus came about the AGNIKUL theory. @anonymus I hope I'm not wrong.
2) There were also some indigenous tribes like the Rathors, chandelas and Bundelas.

@Samandri

Yeh dekho inko, proud of their invaders ;)

bibi Levina I didn't expect this from you. Huns were east iranic, aka abdalis aka durranis I mean pashtuns.

''According to the Encyclopaedia Iranica and Encyclopaedia of Islam, the Hephthalites possibly originated in what is today Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Durranis/Abdalis are also believed to have originated from Balochistan/Koh Sulaiman.

Hahaha
RAJPUTS are not invaders like GHAZNAWI. I have seen how my countrymen make fun of your country men when they talk proudly of invaders.

Btw Hephthalites got assimilated into India with time.
And I am proud of Muslim ruler called Akbar too. In my opinion anyone who has contributed in my nation's progress should be respected. Rajputs are Indians and you can't deny it. Lol

Not an issue at all!!
They married Gujjars and lived happily in India (as Indians) thereafter.
-End of the story-

Rajputs were people of unparallel bravery but they followed the values of Mahabharat. Prithviraj set Mohammad gori free as he apologized. They had high ego and low unity. However we should give them credit for fighting very bravely. They loose but they inflicted a terror and fear in enemy's heart. Had they not fought so bravely, we would have suffered a lot more than we did. We must say thanks to Rajputs.
Gauri was never captured He faced defeat in first war but managed to retreat. Than in second war destroyed Pritivi Raj and his soldiers. As for Rajputs they were total disaster and writer is wrong here you can't rule out motivation and their willingness to die for their cause.

Rajputs are indeed Indians, and I am pretty sure non-muslim invaders were even more harmfull to natives. Indian rajputs probanly have very little to do with hunas. But lets suppose few Hunas sleept with rajput women since they were always open to give away daughters, This doesn't make every rajput decendent of huna. Another thing is Indian rajputs started to claim being pathans after converting just few hundred years ago. Something like this also happened when Hunas invaded.

Which mean rajputs have very little to with hunas racially since they were always open to any invader.

Its shamefull you proudly claim Huna ancestry without any proof.

Rajputs were super failures as a warrior race. First they were kicked out of central Asia by the other more ferocious Hun's. They come to India to find a more docile and peaceful people and establish themselves as the new overlords. Once again when they face new enemy from central Asia they simply capitulated.

Wait, are rajputs not hunas themsemselves according to some? And when they were kicked out of central asia?

Not at all. Bravery is good for historians and bards to wax eloquent about. For a soldier, the only thing that matters is to survive long enough to kill more of the enemy.

India remains Hindu India because the Marathas broke the Muslim back. Viciously, unrelentingly and without mercy. We did not allow ourselves the luxury of ethics or honor or any such "higher" ideals in battle. The only thing that was worth fighting for was the bleeding corpse of the enemy soaking the soil of the battlefield red.

This is what Elphinstone famously wrote about my ancestors

"As small sturdy men, well made, though not handsome, they are all active, laborious, hardy, and persevering. If they have none of the pride and dignity of the Rajputs they have none of their indolence or their want of worldly wisdom. A Rajput warrior as long as he does not dishonor his race, seems almost indifferent to the result of any contest he is engaged in.

A Maratha thinks of nothing but the result and cares little for the means if he can attain his object. For this purpose he will strain his wits, renounce his pleasures and hazard his person; but he has not a conception of sacrificing his life or even his interest for the point of honor. This difference of sentiment affects the outward appearance of the two nations; there is something noble in the courage even of the ordinary Rajput and something vulgar in that of the most distinguished Maratha.

The Rajput is the most worthy antagonist. The Maratha is the most formidable enemy; for he will not fail in boldness and enterprise when they are indispensable and will always support them or supply them with stratagem, activity, and perseverance. All this applies chiefly to the soldiery to whom more bad qualities might fairly be ascribed. The mere husbandmen are sober, frugal, and industrious and though they have a dash of the national cunning, are neither turbulent nor insincere.

Whether a peasant or a soldier, nature fostered in the Maratha an innate love of independence which made him rebellious in spirit. In this combination of courage, cleverness and power endurance, in his ability to plan and execute surprise and night attacks, in his skill to extricate himself from a tight corner or to vary his tactics to the changing phases of a battle without waiting for guidance from a superior, it was hardly possible to beat the Maratha Soldier."

And to this day the Maratha remains a formidable arm of the Indian Army.

The only thing you should seriously take from this martial race piece is that marathas are small and not handsome, obvious truth for everyone to see. Rest is british howgash as usual.

Well if they are just Gujjars, then they might be related to Pashtuns, who are thought to be descended from white huns.
The purer Gujjars of UP look more Pashtun than those urdu speaking Pathans:

The Gujjars of Punjab appear to have lost their distinct look. It's impossible to distinguish Gujjars from Jatts in Punjab, and sometimes even mussalis(converted dalits). Shoaib Akhtar looks like one to me.

Remember in history books written by foreigners north west India mean current Pakistan, and here we are talking about current day Indian rajputs. Since you are sayin Indian rajputs are hunas basically. Its very hard to verify all these claims without some hard evidence, some genetic link.

Total bakwas B/S. Neither Tipu nor Aurangzeb or any other Muslim leader ever resorted to forced conversion. Brahmins and Ksatryas converted mostly to retain and prosper in their position / govt service / army. If there were forced conversions you wouldn't be there today after a thousand years to tell this lie.

Hinduism doesnt believe in conversion as "one must be born hindu".

I did say there were indigenous tribes Rathors, chandelas and Bundelas.

I posting a link from academia.edu where only published and proven articles are published

You can choose to ignore this too if you want but I have proven my point beyond doubt. Thank you!

@anonymus I wanted you to take a look at this

.
1.There is a rule of thumb to judge a man's character. It reveals itself best when under fire. It is totally unthinkable that a man as courageous as Tipu would commit atrocities on the innocent. Indians/Hindus should do well to disregard historical sources based on British/Christian missionary disinfo/misinfo. Look at perhaps the last act of the Tiger - around an hour before he was martayred.

Tipu then mounted his horse, and after inspecting the breaches in the defences, ordered a party of pioneers to repair them and returned to the Lal Bagh palace for a bath. After his bath, at about 10 in the morning, the Sultan then distributed among the Brahmins an oblation, consisting of the following articles : To the priest of Chennapatanam, he gave an elephant, a bag of til oil-seeds, and two hundred rupees. To different Brahmins, he gave a black bullock, a milch buffalo, a male buffalo, a black she-goat, a jacket of coarse black cloth, a cap of the same material, ninety rupees, and an iron pot filled with oil; and previous to the delivery of this last article, he held his head over the pot, for the purpose of seeing the image of his face, a ceremony used among the Hindus to avert misfortune. Further money and cloth was distributed to a number of poor men and women who assembled there.

2. One needs to visit Mysore to see how the modern Indian Hindu leaders be-mean this great patriot and eulogize the British stooges. It is sickening to see marble statues of the Wadyars in India making you wonder when will that country really become free.
