mine is east Indian konkani (Mumbai-Thane Natives) ...its bit different than goan, mangalore and kokan Konkani...but lot of resemblance.. ..

the same question in my language.... "Kaho ha?"

my neighbour(near Cochin) is a "konkani" with surname "bhakthan"(bhaktha) .
by konkani we in kerala mean GSB's. they are all over kerala. they speak a funny language of konkani and malayalam.

Yes, Kerala GSB konkani dialect is completely influenced by malayalam, I have met Kerala GSBs couple of times during our community gatherings. It's really difficult for Karnataka GSBs to understand what those blokes are talking, it sounds exactly like malayalam :D

Not i just grew up in a little country, and the education system wants you to learn at least 2 other languages than the national one.

there are other people also who speak konkani in coastal kerala like "Kudumbi" people.
