What's new

What is your favourite Dog's breed and why?

. . .
I personally would like to have a German Shepard (double coat) with a heavy bone structure because I think they are a perfect blend of obedience and strength. They are also naturally suited for the Pakistani environment.

But one day I'd love to have Samoyed I think they are the best-looking dogs (wolves). I also like Akita Inu.

What kind of dogs do you like? Strong, Cute, or little ones?
Lalay a local kennel is offering me this dog.. its a non ped double coat pup.. what do you think bout its quality.. yay or nayView attachment 666461View attachment 666462View attachment 666463
all GSD are double coat.

The difference is stock hair or long hair. It can also be medium coat or long coat

.
The reason im confused is that the guy ia claiming its mother belongs to someone else and used his dog as a stud.

Claims this is the father.. has no pic of its mother.

Saw this on the internet.. thus the confusion.
This dog is long coat (hair behind ears), it has a black mask which is preferred in Pakistan. tail length is good, black saddled and colour is Red/Black.

No one here likes the Rottweiler?
Very aggressive but loveable dog.
Labradors and Golden retrievers are the friendliest tho.

Pup seems pure, quality is average. Paw size is average, tail is average, chest is also average, muzzle seems ok. They have shown the bend/slope in the pic in standing config. I would still see the mother before buying. Its not about 35k or 40K, its more about investing time and money on the dog after you bought it. The vet bills of vaccination, anti-parvo injections, feed and diet, collar and chains, building a kennel etc.

Non peds quality vary from 30k to 65k. There non ped pups from under-age ped females too and their quality is excellent. Try from Army Dog centre if you want a good working line, you wont be able to get the dog in a show although they will give you papers. If you ask me, try and go for stock coat GSD, coat maintenance is easier. Long coat variety are beautiful in looks but a hassle to clean their coats and keep them tick free. Heat is another factor. GSDs also shed coat in different seasons. In any case the choice is yours. The long coat GSD has a lot of demand in Pakistan.

There are different temperaments of GSD pups in every litter. 1 or 2 pups are curious type, 1 is usually laid back, 1 or 2 pups want a job given to them etc. In pakistan breeders don't even know the temperaments of their own pups. They always go with the history of the parents (looks not temperament). What you want in your GSD is prey drive, otherwise tie it up with chain (in isolation sometimes) so it gets frustrated and thus aggressive. This is the wrong way to make a dog aggressive. The proper way is through using its prey drive to train it and get tasks done. All GSD have watch Dog instinct, some have naturally guarding instinct too as they will bite, but the natural watch dog/guard instinct can come up till 1.5 years or later too. In Pakistan, people want a 5 month old GSD to bark at strangers and rip them to pieces.

There should be awareness on slope also. I have seen many GSDs in Pakistan with awkward slopes and people trying to sell them at good price to get rid of them. Mostly sellers show slopes of parents or pup to buyers to generate their interest that the pup is Show class. I prefer straight backs though. Below is a long hair female GSD and this guy was selling this dog at a high price. I confronted him about the slope and showed him the fault. see where the blue lines meet, this is not the kind of slope you want in your GSD

It is haram to have a dog as per Islam.so I stay away from them.

Not haram though, but being discouraged if the reason of having it is not for meaningful purpose. I like dog (particularly handsome German shepard), but yup I will not buy it since it will make my life difficult considering their saliva is considered major najis.

Even I will not buy Persian cat that I love due to difficulty to take care them because the cat will live inside the home, I just dont have patience to dumb cat shit every time it shit and also keep my house door closed because the cat just can play out side my house territory and some one will take the cat since it is an expensive cat. I had one before, actually my sister cat, but I am the one who are close to the cat.

Other domestic cat that we can see every where is the best one to have, they can hang out every where and no body ever want to have them unless when they are still a cute little cat. No issue in shit as well, since they will find proper soil to dumb their shit like our garden and buried it after finish. They can find food by themselves as well, and I like it. I get this kind of cat when I was still a university student. When I have mouse at my house, I will let the cat inside and the cat will catch it. I dont like spoiled cat that need to get food all the time from us unless it is expensive cat like Persian cat. @jamahir

Despite so, If I can successfully enter heaven in the after life, Amen, I would like to have at least one German Shepperd. Not by allowing it inside home, but I hope I have huge land there. I expect their saliva is not a major najis any more there, but if it still does, even if it is in heaven ( in the assumption that I hopefully live there), I think I prefer not to have them though, at least it is what I think now, dont know whether my opinion will change in the after life though.

Well, for me all cats are equal. I don't understand why a Persian Cat should be expensive to obtain, especially in a Muslim-majority country like Indonesia.

Though I understand why you didn't let the cat go outside I believe that cats should be free to go out. They enjoy the trips.

In my city in India, in my area, I no longer see cats. They have all been killed by dogs. This would be generally the case all over India.

Doberman

I used to have a bully kutta but the dumbass roamed out of the gate one day and never saw him after that

A double coat dog is NOT suited to Pakistan's warm weather --- unless you live in the mountains.

I think that the German Shepherd are not "naturally beautiful" and their forced selective breeding has made them very weird.

As I won't be ever having a dog for hunting, killing intruders etc. , I think golden retrievers, huskies, and Australian shepherds make better 'friends of the house'.

Absolutely --- "champion bloodline" breeders have ruined the dog breed and caused huge hip issues by selectively breeding for this sort of slanted back, which wasn't even in the original breed standards! Humans really are retards.

Same slanted back that is valued in modern, messed up show circles but is detrimental to the hip health of the dog. As others have mentioned, visit the puppy and the parent(s) and then decide. Also, make sure the puppy stays with the mother for AT LEAST 2 months/8 weeks --- and ideally longer. This gives them enough time to suckle and learn important socialization and other traits from their littermates.

I said Persian cat expensive because we need to spend some amount of money which is not cheap to acquire one, while other domestic cat can be taken almost without any cost, we just need to give them food and they become close to us and want to live in our house.

Yup, let Persian cat go outside our house can make we will no longer see the cat in the future. People want to have them, unlike other domestic cat.

Well, it is strange that you no longer see cat in your city though. Yup, people live in Jakarta dont like to see dog hanging around freely in the neighborhood. I rarely see dogs in Jakarta streets and most of the dogs are kept inside the owner house/land.

In Indonesia, particularly in dense populated city like Jakarta, it can be said that every house has already been occupied by one male cat who will protect their territory from other male cats

Male cat here has different feature and usually has short tail like Dobberman (dog) and has bigger and solid body than female ones. Some even can have face that looks like tiger and mostly difficult to get tamed, unlike female cats. But I got one for several years that I can touch and even grab his face without my hand being bite. This cat dont eat at garbage and mostly hunt mice and other small animals.
