Not every person have a TV. Families does. But again , not every family have a TV. So total number of TV’s maybe around 4 crore.



Can’t. National TV channel, radio channel are used for government propaganda. Propaganda is very important for each country (to international audience as well as national audience). Can’t ignore that. Actually by looking at our international reputation, i would auggest a ministry of Propaganda too.



PTV is a government agency owned by government. You pay tax to government and government use those taxes in places of interest. Even if get bankrupt, government will bailout it from its own or your money (by doubling 35 to 70). While on the other hand , you are no body.

Oh and Btw people who do not own TV can get this fee removed from their bill by giving application at Wapda service center. If you own 2 meters for one house you can do the same for one of the meter.

There was another clause that if you use less than 300 units you dont have to pay for the TV fee as well.
