as far as I know, pashtuns represent 30%+ of the army alone. that number is increasing due to the new policy of conscripting an equal amount of troops from each province. The frontier corps (FC)-basically another unnofficial hand of the army-is 90% pashtun. There are significant amount of pashtuns in the air force and navy as well. However, the ISI is practically 'run' by pashtuns (hint: if pashtuns weren't dominating the ISI, we wouldn't have an afghanistan policy to began with). it's only balochis and sindhis who are a minority in the armed forces as a whole.

.
Pashtuns are 14.3% in army according to official statement of ISPR, Sindhis are 17% and Punjabis are 59%.

The relationship is a close one throughout history. The recent creation of modern states by colonialists has caused some friction but overall, Afghans and Pakistani share alot of history especially with those who are ethnically Afghans (pashtuns of pakistan) and even other ethnicities due to sufism, the Farsi language, etc. The sufi saints who spread Islam in the subcontinent like Moeinuddin Chishti, Hujwiri etc were all from modern day Afghanistan. Similiarly Afghans share alot of history with Tajikistan and Iran. Our food is quite similar except some differences, clothes are similar, we have both borrowed from each other and being neighbours, its not that surprising.

We have relation ship with Afghanistan because
Neighbor country.
Muslim.
Pashtoon wali.

The first people who had preached Islam in the subcontinent were Sufi`s and Shia preachers but there was no proper state or country declared as an Islamic country later on when Muhammad Ghaznavi came he conquered most part of Sindh and punjab (more like looting and massacring) and forcing others to convert to Islam .He was more of a tyrant. as far as relations with Afghanistan we are related by the Pushtuns which are on both sides of the western border and in the North where people are ethnically related to the people in the Badkhshan province in Afghanistan.

No, only people from KPK make up 14.3% of our army - there are currently 30-40 million Pasthuns in Punjab and much more who share Pasthun descent. If you are Pasthun in Sindh you'll be considered a Sindhi or if your a Kashmiri in Balochistan you'll be considered Baloch. Pasthuns could even be majority in our country.

We could annex eastern part of Afghanistan if we gain popular support.

No, not every one is misguided this is propaganda. There are many Pashtun and others in these areas thankful that someone is releasing the choking grip of the Taliban on them. Those that are misguided, their eyes are being closed not opened.
Do you really Think these Namak Haram Afghani deserve to be replied? Leave this rookie in his shi**.

If Afghanistan and Pakistan unite into one Islamic country it will be a super victory for Pakistan and Islam.

what is the relationship between Afghan and Pak?in histroy,in culture,in language,in political.

would Afghan more likely to be integrated with Pak or Iran or otherwise.

Historically, Many Afghani invaders came through Khyber and Bolan pass to invade India and Pakistan, with them they brought their credo, culture... So historicaly India, Afghan and Pak are related colsely.
Further, Both (Pak and Afghan) have common religion...

Still, a good relation is yet to be establish between Pak and Afghan.
However, India has good relation with afghanis, where India is providing them Literacy, financial help, student visas; recently, India gifted a Parliament made by India to Afghan as a token of friendship...

If Afghanistan and Pakistan unite into one Islamic country it will be a super victory for Pakistan and Islam.
If Pakistan and India unite into one democratic country it will be a super victory for IVC and humanity

I have yet to meet a Pashtun from KPK who likes Afghans of any descent. And yet to see a Pakistani who wants to unite with India. Let's respect each other as sovereign states. Pashtuns are Pakistani to the core and have defended it with their blood. They will continue to do so and we are proud of them.

while respecting sovereignty, unity is lost
while respecting religion, humanity is lost..
nonetheless, i was just replying the poster that he should respect the sovereignty of Afghanistan.
