What is the logic behind call to prayer being in arabic in Turkey?

First I have a question. What is a mosk? Do you mean Mosque?
The reason Arabic is used is because the words spoken there are holy and absolutely cannot be changed in the slightest way. And when translating something to another language there is always some loss of meaning.
Saying that changing the language from Arabic makes the prayer less holy seems like cultural enslavement to me.

.
I'm all for a NEW LANGUAGE that is advanced and can be understood by all.

Then have the prayers in that language. But arabic? This is TURKEY!

Communication is not the problem in Islam, but culture, which blocks the relation of muslims with Islam as your deal caused this thread.

The religion of Islam and cultures of people are two different things, but confused mostly by illaterate ones, and Muslims are victims like you.

.
there is a verse in sorah al maedah which tells us not to violate sheyr-ollah and translating the azan is considered to be a violation so i think thats the reason
Bro, introducing "ultra laicism" has done havocs on Turkey!!! Even the military folks, the staunchest supporters of Kemal Pasha, now accept it. For, PKK/PYD terrorists (if they're not Armenians or Syrians etc.) are Marxist/commies etc. coming from the Turkish education system!!! In fact, after 1980 coup the Military generals re-introduced "Religious studies" in schools!!!! The general staff wants the officers, stationed in the Kurdish areas, to attend Ju'ma wearing military uniforms!!! Recently, a top general even gave a talk inside a mosque!!!!

Finally my BFF is here, now the enemy will run and hide. :sarcastic:

Marcus hurry up bro, we need more ammunition. :sniper:

"Cultural enslavement" that is a new word in this thread, and yes I'm thinking it's something of the kind. I called it soft power.

It's crazy to see how many protect the arabic that 99,95% don't understand in Turkey, yet they say they are nationalistic. Something is very seriously wrong in Turkey.

Even if we forget national feelings, there is no logic in listening to something you don't understand.

And this is basic logic/reasoning but they can't even understand this, instead they are blinded by faith and protect the "arabic" which they don't understand.

It's like a zombie movie, only difference is it's for REAL.

You said "muslims are victims like you"

WHAT?

Communication is the issue here, we simply don't understand arabic.

And a 2nd reason is that arabic is not our language.

people who don't pray are talking about things what they never would do:-). Arabic or not Arabic, if you give them translation did you think they would go read it? They don't read it and are complaining about people who are reading. Who gives a fak about them?

Those illaterate ones will keep repeating what is indoctrinated by Islam abusers in their subconcious despite the first order ''Read''. That also explains why they cannot come up with rational arguments, for they simply do not know the Islam by reading the book, but listening to mouths of those Islam abusers. Therefore, muslims are victims like you.

Communication is not the problem as Islam has ''no language'' at all, but cultures have; Islam has no body, but cultures have etc.

Source is first hand knowledge of meeting enough Turkish seculars in the 80s. Dont worry about the source.

wow he had absolute power. that is so Arab hahaha and ironic. he was like a secular ISIS lol
Burning?

I knew a lot of verses that I could quote when young, I could even read it in arabic.

But I didn't understand a SINGLE WORD!

If that isn't brainwashing I'm a duck :)

Yes many can read the Quran in Turkey, but the real question you should ask is do anyone understand what they read at all?

99,95% doesn't.

Imagine you just learned to read Latin, and you read the bible in Latin, yet you don't understand a single word!

That is the case in Turkey!

And we are being forced to listen to something we don't understand as well.

Then they call me anti-islam, even though I said I want it in turkish!
Religion is a connection between a humans soul and god.It is always personal matter.A person always prays better, talk with god to relax head from sad ness with his own language only.God does not need any language to understand its devotee. You just have show your devotion not by shouting in mike.

. .
See, this is what I mean.

If you want arabic go to arabia, this is SPARTAAA!

you repeated it many times..

mr troll you seem to be flamers second account or some other gypsy I am done with you after this

.
So do the most of the folks from the sub-continent!!! So, what's wrong with that????? Please come up with a better reasoning!!!!

People cook food by hand, but eating with your hands is primative. Lmao

This guy is very logical.

Exactly, well said bro.

To be truly democratic in all countries there should be no jewish horns, no church bells, no muslim call to prayers.

Religion should be between man and God and it should be personal and not forced upon others.

Now some Turks might complain that I'm anti-islam, but they should also know that the coin has 2 sides. How do they feel when they need to live with church bells every single day abroad?

EVERYONE should be respected in a society, even if it's a single human being.

It's just a matter of time before we get there, but there will be lots of blood spilled first.

I doubt in 1000 years they will have call to prayers in arabic in spaceships when we are going to our colony in Marcusia Galaxy :)

Rather gypsy than thinking it's not crazy to listen to arabic you don't understand.

And you are a muslim? haha you call me a gypsy, how very muslim of you.

Salat/Namaz is essentially all about thanking Allah and asking him for guidance.
One shall not limit it self to 5 essential salat in remembering Allah and asking for blessings and forgiveness, which can be done in any language.

Before Mohammad pbuh, believers (people of book) used to offer Salat in their respective languages.
Since Quran was revealed in Arabic, so when Salat was prescribed 5 times to Mohammad pbuh and was pass on to follow. It started in Arabic and continued in Arabic.

Being a non Arabic speaker, i'm left with two choices:
1) Learn limited words in Arabic and continue to offer (atleast) Salat in Arabic. or
2) Innovate and change it to whatever language.

I personally would like to opt. for choice 1, which is easy part because of few sentences involved, which I can learn with meaning, so it stays original.

Regarding Quran its bit different... the advise is to read with understanding, because its essentially a message rather than prayer or ritual... naturally understanding would require translation for those who don't understand Arabic!

While religion is personal choice, so everyone should practice, believe and innovate at his own risk, others must not be bothered, unless they are effected by it. Organized states must ensure, one's religion is not effecting others life or personal beliefs.

Coming to Azan, which is call to prayer... is a public thing so it's matter of state policy, which I believe is based in democratic spirit, since there lies absolute consensus among the believers to have it in Arabic.
However, whenever masses would like to have it in local language, no one can stop it. Masses can even choose, there should be no Azan at all! In west there is no concept of public Azan.
