What is the best way to counter terrorists’ ideology?

It doesn't have to be repealed (no need to stir a hornets nest) - but critical parts of the objectives resolution need to be focused on and used to justify the necessary changes:

"1. The principles of democracy, freedom, equality, tolerance and social justice, as enunciated by Islam, shall be fully observed."

There are 2 ways to look at the excerpt above from the OR:

1. It either covers the repeal of blasphemy laws and laws legitimizing discrimination against Ahmadis and non-Muslims and therefore the OR itself does not need to be repealed.

or,

2. The 'principles ... enunciated in Islam' are in fact discriminatory and prejudicial, which means that you would need Muslims to accept a glaring flaw in their faith, which would be the only way in which you would get support for a repeal of the OR.

Option 2 isn't feasible. It's one thing to argue distortion/misinterpretation of ones faith, and another to argue that the faith itself is flawed.

It is a minefield for sure, but it has to be traversed carefully if the solution is to be effective and enduring.

Simple. Separate religion from nation, Atleast till Pakistan's GDP per capita becomes $5000.

Simple? This is the most difficult thing to contemplate with regards to Pakistan.

It is widely reported that the Pakistan Army is reaching the last phase in its fight against the militants inside the country. According to a news article below: “The army says it has killed more than 2,700 militants since the launch of the offensive — dubbed Zarb-e-Azb — last June, and destroyed more than 800 of their hideouts.”

Operation Zarb-e-Azb: Army gearing up for final push in Shawal Valley - The Express Tribune

It is no secret the terrorist organizations like the TTP and Lashkar-e-Taiba have been working diligently to destabilize the nation of Pakistan. Thousands of innocent lives have been lost due to their acts of terror. Their barbaric nature is evident through their statements and how they boast about the killings and show no remorse while accepting the responsibility.

One of the key details to note is that these terrorist organizations have been successful in casting their evil ideology over the minds of many. We’ve seen these terrorist organizations manipulate men, women and even children into becoming suicide bombers. Moving forward, it is important that these terrorist organizations do not succeed at brainwashing anyone into carrying forward their evil agenda. We commend the Pakistani security forces in their efforts to counter terrorism and have full confidence in their ability to restore peace in the country. At the same time, it is also important for everyone to stand united and take any advantage away from the enemies of peace.

Please share your opinion in regards to what must be done to prevent the terrorist organizations from spreading their influence and evil ideology.

First LET or JEM or Hizbul Mujahideen have never worked against Pakistan. Now as for defeating militants they can't be until and unless states implement Islamic laws USA and NATO leave Muslim lands and also stop attacking and abusing Islam and its figures. Finally resolve issues of Palestine and Kashmir and Chechnya and Iraq and Afghanistan and others. If you won't do these sorry but you are bound to fail. @CENTCOM

In my view, three steps need to be taken and not necessarily in this order.

1. Sectarian MilitantTakedown: Ruthlessly dismantle the sectarian political/terrorist network including the likes of ASWJ, Lashkar e Jhangvi (LeJ) and other affiliated groups in a country-wide crackdown with a particular focus on Punjab and Sind.

2. Madrassa Reform and " Weed Out": Shut down radical madrassas that support terrorist groups, and register and monitor the funding channel/ curriculum for the remaining schools.

Which brings us to the final and most important step. Without which, the first two measures cannot be successfully implemented.

3. Block Foreign Terror Funding: This primarily refers to foreign funding of sectarian political/terrorist groups and their support network of radical madrassas.

We know that the Saudis are responsible for a large chunk of funding for radical madrassas, as well as a host of local militant groups including the notorious Lashkar Jhangvi (LeJ)/ASWJ/ TTP combine responsible for a host of attacks over the last many years including the audacious assault on the GHQ in 2009.

Thankfully, our establishment seems to have finally learnt an important lesson: Don't rely on pseudo-religious Salafi-inspired thugs to further geo-political agendas. The Al Saud need the Wahabi/Salafi establishment for political legitimacy. We don't have that problem.

Speaking of pseudo-religious Salafi marauders, ISIS is Saudi's "gift" to the muslim world and beyond. A network that now poses the biggest threat of the 21st century to the muslim and western world. Lets ask the obvious question.Where was the US when Saudis were busy creating and funding the ISIS/Daesh monster? Sitting by the sidelines and hoping for Assad's demise? Your own General Dempsey admitted as much the Saudi role in funding ISIS during a Senate hearing. Has the US not learnt anything from its mistakes?

The Al Saud have historically consistently relied on their Wahabi/Salafi foot soldiers/allies to achieve geo-political aims, reflected in their 200 year old alliance with the followers of Abdel Wahab. The Karbala massacre in 1801, the Ikhwan raping and pillaging entire communities across Hijaz in the early 1900s, the latest creation in the form of ISIS wreaking havoc across Iraq and Syria, are only a few examples of this enduring unholy alliance nurtured in the sands of Nejd. Until the wahabi/salafi ideology and funding infrastructure in Saudi is dismantled, murderous proxies like ISIS and LeJ will continue to be spawned. As always, the proxies have increasingly spun out of control and ISIS is simply the latest manifestation of chickens coming home to roost.

The US military is fighting ISIS and other Salafi-funded militant groups around the world including Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Iraq and Syria. Would'nt your job be a lot easier if the Saudis were made to see the light and renounce this deviant wahabi ideology, and stop funding ISIS, TTP, LeJ, Boko Haram, Al Shabab and other proxies around the world? Of course given the Al Saud's symbiotic and long-standing bond with their Wahabi brethren, it is not clear if they will course correct voluntarily.

Don't just fight the symptoms, treat the disease. Time to focus on the root of the problem. Our establishment understands that now. Does yours?

Filter out those from defence forces who still wants to keep TTP and their Sect (which are actually their main power resource Wahhabis) and assume that they are strategic assets.

Close down all Wahhabi brand madarsaas and all masjids should be taken back from them as they are some how playing a role preaching extremism and providing man power to extremists.

Ban all political parties and supporters indiscriminately (JI, JUI, PTI, Samiul Haq Group and likewise) who are supporting or asking to have a talk with terrorists just to provide them enough breathing space so they could gather their energy and fight back.

All governmental organisations like Islami Nazariyati counsel and others should be freed from Wahhabi factions specially the drunken one.

All Masjids like Lal Masjid should be demolished and people like Maulvi Abdul Aziz should bee thrown in jail for life or sent to exile in Saudia as the lick their boots and destroy our youth.

It is openly said by Hilary Clinton that they (The Americans) import this Wahhabi brand of Islam here in South Asia to deal with Soviet Union.

All the corrupt thoughts are constructed by sleeper cells who are disguised as foreign NGO's & fake religious groups. Take them out, most of the problems will be solved.

Open up credit lines so people have the opportunity to claw their way out of poverty.

Nobody does anything for free. TTP supporters are just looking for a quick buck. Don't be fooled by the religious rhetoric.

Ban all violent versions of Islam. Effective and simple!

Such blanket bans never work. The only enduring way is to separate matters of State from matters of religion. Keeping them intertwined is a recipe for disaster, as we can see. Keep religion a private matter, where it belongs.

Hi,

To fight terrorism---it is a full time campaign and needs total and serious commitment right from day one. As much effort as you would want to put to crush the manpower----so much more effort you need to put in a media campaign to fight them.

You have to have your own media campaign to nullify the terrorist propaganda right in their backyard and elsewhere. You do this by radio, by dropping leaflets, on the tv---.

Advertise on the radio that those dying as terrorists would not be given a muslim burial---bury them and level the grave.

Take the teaching of jihad out of the mosques---. Madrasah's are not recruiting grounds for the private armies of mullah's and must not be allowed. They must have a curriculum same as that of the schools.

Call to prayers at one time----no loud speakers----and sermons sanctioned by the state.

And amongst many other things---stop the funding to the cause of these terrorists by taking strict action against those who do.

So---as important as the battle is----more important is the media campaign against them. When there is a military action started against them-----total blackout on any news leakage must be forced.

There should be NO CEASE FIRE during the middle of the fight----no negotiations till the weapons are aid down by the terrorists---. Strike hard---strike deep----strike like there is no tomorrow---and take no prisoners.

These are just a few suggestions.

Power up those politicians who even slightly care about the future of this country.

Eradicate Molvis whereby a Molvi is someone who isn't gainfully employed.

Thus, who ever is in the business of making money out of religion must be eradicated.

stay away from US and kill every terrorist you find is only way to go ahead
"Stay as far away from US and it's foreign policy."

Dear A.m. and Imran Khan,

It is important to keep in mind that terrorist organizations like the TTP see the U.S. and Pakistan as common enemies. They have made it clear on several occasions that they do not wish to see any alliance between the U.S. and Pakistan. At the end of the day, it is in our best interest to combine our strength and work together to negate the common threat of terrorism.

Our nations have been working together for over a decade, and yes, we have faced certain challenges in regards to our partnership, but our shared stance against terrorists continues to bind us together. Our officials have been meeting regularly to address all shared concerns and prevent any possible issues from arising. You can rest assured that the focus remains on building a healthy working relationship, and we are fully optimistic in regards to achieving our common objectives through shared cooperation and coordination.
