What is the Best fighter jet for Bangladesh Air force in the future?

just like we bought MBT2000. there is a Pakistani version of it AL Khalid. We will go for Fc-1. not jf-17. Pakistan will get no benefit from the deal. we will never see F-16 blk 60, Gripen, SU-27/J-11, F-15 ,SU-30 in our inventory.. I guess the future is few dozen j10 + a good amount of J-17 at 2020.

We can see Western aircraft, SU-27/J-11B given that the air force is properly funded and that the deals are transparent (unlike the MiG deal).

Our air force is grossly underfunded. And yes, the Pakistanis can benefit from any FC-1 deal ;)

Bro ur not gettin mbt-2000 but V a tank with only the configuration of AK... coz AK is an entirely HIT effort based on the hull of a chinese tank.. for eg,tank gun,APS,battle management system,UAV con, armour, lasers, jammers, transmission, missiles,DU, etc etc

But FC-1 is a joint project 50/50 partnership between Pak-China.. so excluding the manufacturing cost.. the profit will be shared aswell.
****. That diminishes our possibility of procuring fc-1 by hasina

1) F-18 Super Hornet -- Noo! waste of precious money. "-3"
2) Typhoon -- too costly "-3"
3) Rafale -- there are better choices you know "+/-"
4) Su-35BM -- excessive "-2"
5) J-10B -- logically sensible "+1"
6) Gripen -- Why? "+/-"
7) Mig-35D -- if you want to ruin your economy that is "-2"
8) J-11B -- yes, but not now "+1"
9) F-16 (Block 52) -- forget it, you'll snatch your own hair after this "-2"
10) JF-17 -- at the present, nothing more saweet than this :"+2"

You know, I do not know why, but every time I see a Pakistani Flagged post, it always ends with JF-17 is the best choice for Bangladesh Air Force. Where as, according to Jane's, Bangladesh Air Force is considering F-16/Mig-29CMT/JAS-39/Su-30 as the next fighter aircraft for the country which shall be introduced within 13 years. The first batch shall include 20-32 aircraft and then there will be the second batch which shall replace all the present aircraft from inventory. The force shall eventually introduce 48-64 units.

Now, tell me, where do u see JF-17 stands now? Do u still think JF-17 is the best possible option for air force? then go and replace all those J-10, F-16 and Mirages from inventory with JF-17.....

JF-17 is a puppet show, China needed funding for J-10, J-11B & J-20 program, needed a allied country (Pakistan) to keep India busy on a Cat & Mouse show so that they can meanwhile concentrate on developing J-10B, J-11B, J-20. And a total of 200-300 unit of JF-17 in Pakistani hands means $5-8 bl in Chinese pocket. Jackass -17 lol

I will be extremely surprised if any country buys JF 17 purely on its merits in next 5 years.. Its a fresh platform. Any military worth its salt will wait for the platform to have some years behind it in full operations before entrusting it with its national defence. No disrespect to JF 17... Its normal for any new platform.. No matter how good..

JF-17 is not a new platform really. It's a Sino-Pak JV. This will definitely be a good aircraft for various reasons. Western gadgets on a Chinese frame, for instance. More important, in Pakistan the end users, the pilots and PAF were directly involved in the development. There were no contractors as such.

fair point, but its been in service for less than 2 years (and its the 1st plane of its series).. So most countries who are looking for a budget plane will not want to risk their small budget (the reason they are looking for a low cost plane) on a series which is less than 2 years in service.. 3-5 years down the line will be a different story though

2. BAF has however selected J-10 for now, and will go for J-20 next. Our main thrust remains concentrating on ground air defenses to make our small and compact surface area into a jungle of air def weaponry.

Dear Brother,

Please read this and if you find it hard to believe then go to Jane's and see the report by yourself. I guess you need to read this even more than our Pakistani brothers who always somehow comes to the conclusion that JF-17/J10 is the best option for fighter aircraft for BAF and shall definitely acquire them.

Bangladesh Air Force is to get 32 advanced fighter jets by 2021. Aircraft that are being considered are MiG-29CMT, Lockheed Martin F-16 and Su-30 and the Saab JAS-39.

According to information published in the journal «Jane's Defence Weekly», Shah Mohammad Ziaur Rahman (Marshal and Chief of Air Staff, Bangladesh), said at an international conference in London on 2011 that his country intends to buy 16 brand new F-7BGI fighter jets from China. Their preparation is expected in 2012. Details of the contract on purchase of F-7BGI aircraft, remained undisclosed. It is assumed that these will replace the outdated fighter bombers A-5C, now in the service.

According to Shah Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, the purchase of aircraft F-7BGI will be for a transitional period, because in the next 13-15 years, the Air Force intends to acquire a new generation of fighters (32 unit). The options being considered is the MiG-29CMT, Lockheed Martin F-16 and Su-30 and the Saab JAS-39. In addition, the Air Force plans to upgrade 8 MiG-29 that were purchased back in 1999, and of course, buy a new trainer for advanced training in order to replace the existing L-39.

So, I guess you should stop your wild guess about future acquisition of JF-17/J-10/J-20. Oh, by the way, BAF pilots has specifically asked/recommended Sukhoi Su-30 to Prime Minister.
