What is stopping Federal Government from imposing emergency and taking control of Karachi?

After every torrential rain, mishap or mismanagement the PTI , MQM and PPP ministers start playing ping pong and blame game while people of Karachi suffer and drown in rain water

But no one dares to take concrete steps to fix problems.

Federal government can impose emergency and take over Karachi from Sindh govt as per constitution.

PTI leaders are in power, they are not in opposition, we dont need lollipops we want actual steps thats why PTI was given 13 seats from Karachi

Karachi has a 25 million population and contributes to 70% revenue, we deserve basic facilities.

instead of going outside the law, why not try and force the politicians to implement local governance?
It's not rocket science
City has powers to collect property tax to run the city
Province has powers to take some income tax to run the province
Federal government has the power to take some income tax to run the country.

Problem is
1. people will have to pay taxes
2. Politicians will lose control, especially of tax funds.

It is actually following the constitutional law, if things get severely bad (as they are right now). Provincial govt fails to control the situation Federation can impose emergency and take over.

You've got the wrong idea there mate. Social media protest are just lazy. Nothing brings politicians to heel than people in the streets.

taxes been paid by every human on earth its mean people stop protesting ? why people protest in US /CAN/EU/AUS?????

if no one demands and federal gov take action it will be mess . bring people on streets peacefully demand for new province or federal city then federal gov have right to take action . otherwise stay in home and do not forget to waterproofing your roofs .

Round up your elected representatives and force them to table a new Karachi province bill. Then round up your senators and force them to sign said bill.

Organize people of Karachi to send in suggestions for Federal/Province on Citizens portal. I'm sure when the service crashes down and is unavailable due to the deluge of people sending in their suggestions the government will be forced to act on it.

i think it will create more mess if federal gov take action now without public support . people have two ways only vote or protest to bring demands on table . they want to sit in comfort zone and federal gov to face mess? its not work like this . i think if one week these guys stop social media and sit on streets problem can be solved . how hazaras /mullahs / TLP blocked the country with in hours ? remember.

Aptly put. People want change without effort. They think lifafi's shouting "Karachi Revenue Generator" non-stop on TV will solve their problems. It won't.
