Anyday CS guy make more money than IT guy but if the IT guy is consultant then CS guy is nothing infront of him, since consultants work on hourly pay basis

I don't know about your company but most companies simply don't replace CS guys. And don't go by the definition of what's an IT role and what's a CS role by company website. Those things are posted by HR.

I know of six CS guys working in our company since 20 years. But again it depends on the company and the kind of job it does. The more technical/mathematical it gets, the less likely that the CS guy will be replaced.

In companies like Blizzard, Microsoft, Sun(Now oracle), Google, CS guys on an average earn 60-100% more than IT guys of same experience (at least 6-7 years minimum experience required).

But in companies like SAP, Yahoo, Pega, the IT guy makes much more, the CS guy will just get trampled.

are you joking ? in Microsoft CS guys make 60-100% more than consultants, buddy i dont know which Microsoft your talking about. Please just research SCM and consultancy related jobs at Microsoft, their pay scale is second only to the finance and accounting people at the company. Google and Sun heavily rely on IT personnel because of their recent organizational change where customer relationship management has become top priority. I request you do some research before you make such big statements.

Oh you must know better than my friends who work at Google. One of them works as an IT Group Leader. Dude, you don't get patents for SCM works, you get patents for CS work. [You are yet to show me a guy who got his PhD in CS for doing SCM work since 2005, then I will accept that it's technical.] And when you work in a company, obviously you cannot patent your work. But that is compensated for by your pay-scale. I've an offer from Blizzard that am taking up soon, and again I know what a guy doing IT development work gets paid there and what my offer letter reads. Again, my offer letter must be bluffing right?

Are you telling me that my bank accounts, when I clearly make much more money than I could have ever made in IT?

About Microsoft, CS people are not a majority there. Out of every 4 engineers, one would probably be CS and his pay would be way higher. The guys that make most money in MS are neither CS nor IT people, nor finance nor accounting, it's the management, marketing and business strategy units.

It dose not matter whether you are a CS or IT guy but depend on your profile and caliber. Even nuts like IT mangers and CIOs make more money than a highly skilled CS or IT guy because they are at high level.

Now please again return to the topic what CS and IT dose.
CS make awsome algos for computers and IT aslo dose make awsome algos but for day to day life but its undocumented.
