Sorry I bring Ugyur here, but since @Nihonjin1051 bring Ainu so, I think it is still related to explain better his point
Ugyur kid (The smaller girl face is really cute, just innocent face )
Ainu Women (The eyes are not like ordinary Japanese, it is the only difference on this picture, but maybe I am wrong though since some Japanese woman also has bigger eyes, but the shape is not like Mongoloid one )

Thanks for introducing the Srivijaya Kingdom, I know something more of your country.
In the similar period, China was in Tang dynasty, if you are interested, I am glad to introduce the dynasty to you.

They are living in Kashmir in Pakistan, right?
Bro, if you ever have the chance to visit Northern Japanese Island of Hokkaido, there are 4 main subprefectures in the north of the island that have a strong Ainu or Ainu-mixed population, these are : Abashiri Shicho, Kamikawa Shicho, Tokachi Shicho and Nemuro-Kishiro Shicho --- the people there do not look like traditional Japanese beauty as in say Osaka, Tokyo, Saitama, Nagasaki --- they have unique, very very unique features. In fact, my grandfather on my mother's side had hazel eyes, and my uncle (my mother's brother) has light blue eyes.
An example of some of the look in the deep north of Japan: btw, northern Japanese tend to be much taller, harrier, lighter eyes, larger and pronounced forehead:

Hahaha. Its funny because in the past, Ainu Japanese were once stereotyped as backwards and even considered 'Gaijin' (a term used to refer to foreigners) by mainland Japanese. Nowadays, the Eurasian beauty of Ainu Japanese are now highly sought after in Japan. Many of the rising actors or models in Japan have the so called Northern Japanese features.
In the past they used to put down my people, now, they are appraising , idolizing our beauty...LOL
It was said that the Emishi is stronger than Yamato...

The second and last one looks like Japanese. What's this people' religion? I heard they had blood-ties with Huns who was once a strong nomad in vast North Asia grassland, right?
There is a strong presence of Christian Orthodoxy in Hokkaido, especially in the northern subprefectures. The close proximity to Russia has , definitely, been the conduit of Western philosophy , especially religious influence. Christianity is growing in Hokkaido, as there are also Roman Catholicism and Protestant Christian denominations growing --- Methodist, Presbyterian, Born Again etc.
What is Japan's mainland?
no not kashmir- bur Gilgit Baltistan.. those people arent kashmiri.. ethnically or culturally or historically.
No presence of Islam ?
