What's new

What is Imran Khan?

Hahaha, what the hell is wrong with you man? You are wrong on so many fronts that i do not even want to correct you. All i wana say is lay off whatever you are smoking man. There are some others way of getting the adrenaline rush that you crave - try bungee jumping.

If I am so wrong then it should not be a problem for you guys to debunk my claims but all I see here is denial of facts from you guys.

. .
Man you are a prime example of deluded fanboy.
IK loves to keep his followers in fantasy land.
Try to grasp the fact that the World Politics does not want to see Pakistan rise up because it may pose a threat to them and use resources which is precious to them.
It wont be long from now when A promised messiah will arrive and defeat the false Messiah. All signs are here.

Ofcourse they don't. Why would a Western Power want to see Pakistan succeed? A successful Pakistan will mean Pakistanis will fight for their rights, will not let their nation or army get exploited, and will not under-sell national interests for a flat in London (read Mushy). The real question is, so if the world does not want us to succeed, do we choose appeasement (which we have been doing since 9/11) or do we stand and fight for our rights (which only IK is proposing; eg. fight for independant judiciary against USA backed Mushy)?

The answer is not to sit at your sofa at home, drinking tea and passing judgement on PTI and it's leader who is willing to do something about it. Be part of the solution, not the problem.

And you think IK can reject every single of their policies and make Pakistan tiger of Asia? You think world power will just sit and watch tiger Imran Khan take Pakistan to a new height? Independent Judiciary? Isnt CJ the same guy who took oath under Musharraf like a coward and later sided with Nawaz and Imran Khan? IK think anything that suites him is free and fair and independent.
Its so easy to say something big but its close to impossible to make it practical! What happened to nation wide protest which scumbag IK called for? It looks like he does not want to kick zardari out yet because he is doing the dirty work which IK can not afford to do himself.

At the moment IK is the one sitting on his comfi sofa at home drinking liquor and satisfying people's ego with false hope. He cant do a s&*!T about this current government and all he does is whine about it. He has got no practical solution for this nation even a blind patriot high school kid can come up with big hopes for his nation.

BTW can you answer if IK wants to bring Islam into governance system? Or is he a secular?

i am glad people are also talking about other things rather than cricket today.

This is a very crucial time in the Pakistan history and the biggest
problem at this stage is the anti democratic forces that are putting
entire weight to derail democracy. Those who think Imran Khan as best
option should not forget that Just like other family and ethnic Mafia
bosses, Imran’s hart, his love of his life and children are raised in
London, for whatever the reason it may. He stays in the mansion of his
mother-in-law and conduct interviews with the international press and
also a regular speaker of the American and Western “Stink Tanks” for
money, what ever he does with that money does not change the fact that
he is the part and parcel of the big scam of billionaire bankers and
Neo-Satan’s of the world, who buy people like Imran Khan with the fees
they pay for pretending to ’learn” from them. Why Imran did not go to
jail and hid with his friends during the dictator’s rule and was turn
in by the JI students to the police and used his wife’s influence in
Europe to get of the Jail and did not stay there in protest of the
dictatorship like Mandela did for his principals. These were the only
PPP leaders who rendered even their lives for this country and
democracy. The people like Imran Khan are just utopians.

Sometimes I really wonder what sort of poeple we allow to post on this forum.

Imran Khan is last hope -

In a nation where , Jinah's friends were assassinated (Liaqat) and who knows perhaps Jinnah himself was infected with TB by others.

For a a nation where , a women who was called "Mother of nation" could not win an election due to massive vote rigging in favor of army dictator , who put shackles in nation's foot in return for money and power.

He is the last hope who brings , bold fresh ideas after a leader like Bhutto who challenged the world on Pakistani interest

He is the last hope , who brought joy to nation in 1992, and then devoted his life to social cause , which no one cares to do in Pakistan.

He is probbly the few politicians in Pakistan who actually hold a political science degree from UK in pakistan, not a fake degree rejected by HEC

He is the man , who put his country ahead of his personal life....who has vowed to fix a system crrupt form up to core

The last man standing , and a collapsing nation where HEC is being closed, where inflation is running wild , and thefts and in securities are increasing and politicians are moving millions out to Britian.

Imran is that last partnership that can save Pakistan's batting order form total collapse.

Imran khan brings logic to chaos what is Pakistan

A nation , on brink of uncertainty, with each day as it passes , shows how incompetent our leaders are, and a military that can't even defend against drones in air.

Fear, and the feeling of awe and shock on other nation's success grips citizens of our nation , as they wonder - in 70's we used to be the asian tigers , we had industrial power, the workers unions , and a social system with pension benefits

As years have passed , we found our nation incapable of supporting the huge pollution growth but we see the same corrupt politicians talking about a change. Talking about a change when they can't even tie their master's show laces properly.

One thing is for sure , if Imran comes to power, our tax and judicial system will get an over haul

Imran Khan was born to Shaukat Khanum (Burki) and Ikramullah Khan Niazi, a civil engineer, in Lahore. A quiet and shy boy in his youth, Khan grew up in a middle-class Niazi Pathan family with four sisters. Settled in Punjab, Khan's father descended from the Pashtun (Pathan) Niazi Shermankhel tribe of Mianwali in Punjab. Imran's Mother Shaukat Khanam (Burki's) family includes successful hockey players and cricketers such as Javed Burki and Majid Khan. Khan was educated at Aitchison College, the Cathedral School in Lahore, and the Royal Grammar School Worcester in England, where he excelled at cricket. In 1972, he enrolled to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Keble College, Oxford, where he graduated with a second-class degree in Politics and a third in Economics.

Distinguishing Imran from his heroes

By Ayesha Ijaz Khan
Published in The Express Tribune, April 17th, 2011.

Imran Khan is a frequent guest on talk shows, yet I am not sure whether the regular appearances on TV are helping his cause. His understanding of history and politics appears muddled and although Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf fans are unmoved because of their yearning for change, I find it difficult to support change for the sake of change alone, for there are several instances in world history when corrupt regimes have been toppled and change has come, but the arbiters of that change have failed to deliver to the people. More importantly, to be in a position to change things drastically, Imran would have to inspire large numbers of people, not just the unemployed youth but also poets, professionals and the politically astute, who would then jointly work towards common goals to deliver to the masses.

In a recent television interview, Imran, always shy to talk about his team, stated that if he were in government “experts could be hired”. It appears therefore that Imran’s idea of a sound government is one in which he would be heading a team of hired technocrats. And yet, he insists that he will only come in through the ballot. Given our parliamentary system, the two scenarios are mutually exclusive. Nevertheless, Imran, given a free hand by most anchors, waxes eloquent about the accomplishments of Mahathir Mohamad. Mahathir, who was prime minister of Malaysia from 1981 to 2003, was a dictator and not a democrat. While I do not believe that a dictator can do no good, and certainly Mahathir is an example of a dictator under whom Malaysia prospered, one must also note that during dictatorships, dissent is crushed. In Mahathir’s case, although Malaysia rapidly modernised and grew economically, political opponents such as Anwar Ibrahim were persecuted, civil liberties were curbed and an independent judiciary was not tolerated. Yet, I am absolutely astounded that in all, the talk shows that Imran has said Mahathir is his model, no anchor has cross-questioned him on Mahathir’s clampdown of the judiciary, which was not too dissimilar to Musharraf’s.

More recently, Imran has begun to count Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a hero as well. This is interesting because Erdogan is a highly charismatic, democratically-elected leader. Involved in politics from an early age, he had contested local elections to become mayor of Istanbul in 1994. Although his performance as mayor was laudable, having addressed water, traffic and pollution concerns, the Welfare Party, led by Necmettin Erbakan, and of which Erdogan was a part, was ousted from power by a “judicial-military alliance”. Turkey’s secular army did not appreciate the radical rhetoric of the Welfare Party and the judiciary shut the party down after declaring it a threat to the ‘Kemalist nature of Turkey’. Erodogan, along with others, was sent to prison. A few months later, Erdogan emerged from prison to set up the Justice and Development Party and merely a year later, the party swept the election. This simply goes to show that if a political party is popular among the people, there is little that the powers-that-be can do to stop its success. So Imran’s cries about flawed electoral rolls and an independent election commission sound more like excuses than legitimate reasons for his political failure.

Furthermore, instead of becoming bitter and anti-system, Erdogan became more pragmatic after his political persecution. He distanced himself from the Welfare Party’s anti-American rhetoric and vowed to uphold Turkey’s secular credentials. Although he has now been prime minister for more than eight years, Erdogan has focused on improving Turkey’s economy and enhancing its international relations, without involving himself in mundane sloganeering, as Imran is wont to do. Erdogan continues to woo the European Union, has not pulled Turkey out of Nato, recognises Israel and openly espouses the benefits of secularism. Yet, at the same time, he has also moved Turkey closer to Iran, Arab countries and Latin America, and has emerged as a beacon of stability and democracy in the Muslim world. If Imran read up further on his heroes, he may understand that ‘revolutionary ideology’ must inspire the electorate and not those who seek to bypass it.

All he can do is wait for elections now and be prepared. What else do you want him to do? Blow up a market place or a mosque?
