What is BAT?

Heard on Indian Media reports that two IA soldiers have been killed by Border Action Team (BAT) of Pakistan Army? I never heard about this unit. Is it really a unit/battalion/ force in PA or is it just another Indian media invention (Which I think it is).

Its a figment of Indian imagination that they use as a convenient patsy to chalk up everything from their casualties to cases of negligence to.
When I was serving at the LOC, chatter revealed that everything from precise mortar fire to patrols falling into ravines and even the CO's puppy going missing (not being sarcastic) was attributed to the BAT.
If these guys had actually existed, they would have put every special forces in the entire world to shame.

A figment of the Indians' rather overactive imagination which acts as a convenient scapegoat for their own failings. Anything & everything that can or will & has gone wrong on the LOC can be put down at the feet of the feared BATs. In reality no such things as BAT exist in the Pak Army.

Every Pak battalion on LOC has a "commando platoon" (quick reaction troops), if their is a BAT I suspect it will be composed of these folks.Kudos
