What is a "gun"......??? define in detail experts....

OK, apologize to Gambit then, I was under the impression that his post was about the superiority of revolvers, when he said forget semis...Anyways, As for that AK video, I don't know of any AK's which jam every 5 rounds. Also, AK is a very generalized term, are you talking about the original AK, AKM or the Chinese type? Nearly all developing nations use AK's with the majority producing their own variants. Hence, quality varies greatly among variants. BTW, thanks for reminding me about the "Dumb Slu-t firing Desert Eagle" video.(Original name of video). Tells you about .50's and Counter Strike...

There are some locally sold AK-47s and 74s, I often see people carrying them.....they sell for as low as US$100-150.......

Is there any way , they cud be made more reliable ? these AK-47s I talk of were probably used in afghan-russia war in early 80s.....so tell me how come they become so unreliable after 20 years?? I mean , isnt it made of solid steel, then how come they wear and tear so much??

And cud this be avoided in guns with titanium plating on the inner side of the barrel and other important parts?

Well, no parts in the receiver can last forever. Imagine an airplane, being exposed to different levels of pressure, due to constant change in altitude. Now, picture the receiver of your rifle, with each shot fired off, the recoil hits on the parts each time as it pulls and stretches, pulls and stretches. Even if the receiver is made out of metal, you just can't make it withstand constant torture after what, 20 years? And yes, I believe Ti would increase its reliability by a fair bit but, do you know how much and costly Ti is? That's why Carbon-fiber and strong polymers are the future of material science. See how Carbon-fiber is already taking over the aeronautics industry, with the Eurofighter being primarily constructed out of Carbon-fiber. Also note how the HK G36's are constructed out of strong polymers. And note, how modern bullet proof vests are woven out of layers of organic polymers named "Kevlar" instead of the ancient steel plates used back in the days. Good luck.

^^ He didnt say the revolver was better or something....He only stated out that if I wanna know about guns, I should start wid a revolver so I get the feel of what recoil really is all about and cuz its very very simple and basic.....so that I know how guns work and all that ......
The only advantage a semi has over a revolver is capacity, nothing more. A semiautomagic has more moving parts and require more maintenance time. I can clean my G/F's .38 snub nose in half the time I need for my Steyr M40. You would learn quicker with far less fear about firearms if you start on a revolver.

Hi,

Difference between a weapon and a gun---one is for killing---the other for fun.
