What if there would be no US or UN?

As I restrict myself to discussion regarding India mainly, I also read the discussion regarding other countries. I find a lot of countries are hostile to US and its Policy. I also understand it. But I just wonder and wanted to know and discuss among the members of countries about what the world would have been a better place or worst place if there would be no US or UN (thorough which US have its way)?
if there would be no UN or US ....there are many things which we would have nt seen...
like many awesome comics and charterers....many adult stuff......no hollywood.....no disneyland....no las vegas....
no democrazy, no Internet ...no google. no U tube.....no PDF........and many more.....

in last days of war japan was morally, economically and military lost kamikaze attacks was the example for their frustrations

If they felt it was lost they would have surrendered. But they would have taken it to the end just like the last days of Berlin with Hitler in the bunker.

buddy , don't forget the pride of imperial Japanese army and its peoples.. its not easy to surrender ...but they would eventually because entering usa in ww2 turn the European conflict into a WW2 ... eventually all allied forces will put a lot of pressure on them

Dude even after the first bomb they refused to surrender. What pressure is greater than that?
Even after the second one there was still a fierce debate,

Sir , when usa use nuke , no one in japan thought about this new kind of bomb, they think its like a big HE bomb which usa use to drop from B2's as bombing missions , but right after they realized the effect of this new kind of destruction they surrender

No, the Supreme Council was overruled by Hirohito himself. They didn't want to surrender but Hirohito had enough. That's one of the reasons they spared his @ss.

If US never exist, the world will be different. You will feel peace and worried for different things.

A lot of countries will be worried from the threat of EVIL country, if US is gone when you wake up. Have you ever thought that this EVIL country is just designed to be evil by US for their interest? The threat is actually never exist.

You worried if US is gone when you wake up, because there will be no people centric government. People centric government or democratic are actually exist everywhere around the world from ancient China, India to Middle East. Part of the culture there, Europe was actually borrowed and claimed to be originated from Europe.
I suggest you read this book...

The Origins of Political Order: From Prehuman Times to the French Revolution: Francis Fukuyama: 9780374533229: Amazon.com: Books

...Before you make that kind of blanket statement.

Fukuyama did not merely do a good or excellent, but an outstanding job in researching and analyzing the origins of various political systems throughout the world, including ancient China. Then he did an equally outstanding job in putting it into a book readable enough for the laymen, like you and I, as well as for academics outside of political science, to enjoy and learn about political science.

I heavily marked many sections of this book for my own purposes. Nowhere in Fukuyama's work, in this book and in other books, does he said the democratic system is an American invention. But what he very well did in this book is point out where and why does democratic structures and institutions in the past, including your China, failed while the American version succeeded and emulated throughout the world.

While this hypothetical scenario is not silly, the arguments contained within so far are.

It is absurd to speculate of a sudden disappearance of the US after over 200 yrs of US presence, involvement in the world, accomplishments, etc. and expect to have one's speculation take seriously regarding the reactions of the rest of the world and consequences.

Simple question: Could the microwave oven be invented in Russia or China or Timbuktu or Germany or wherever else ?

Of course it can. But assume that the New World did not revolt against the parent countries that conquered and colonized it, what are the probabilities that the microwave oven, or the automobile, or the airplane, or any of the modern day taken for granted devices could be invented and propagated to the masses could easily be done and done rapidly without a country like the US have done ? Very low probabilities.

So just from science, technology, and engineering, the world would be a much different place where PROBABLY only the nobility and/or the very wealthy will live lives of convenience and freedom while the rest of the people live lives of envy, poverty, and misery.

Most of people around the world - mainly those who bash the US restlessly - assume that the world would be better off without the United States. But as a matter of fact, whenever the US doesn't get involve in something, things go messy, chaotic, and get ugly.

If there was no American involvement in WW1 & WW2 things would have been completely different.

Another thing is the fast pace of technological advancement. Without the US the world would have been less progressive, thus, less developed.

Has the US ever had made mistakes? Yes, but everyone makes mistake.

Then there would be no sexy F-16's. :D

F-15 is sexier, especially the F-15SA :coffee:

If there was no U.S. there would have been total peace in the world. Nobody would have been dead. Before America was born, there was total peace. Now the world is in a crapper.

OK then, Let's assume from tomorrow morning when you woke up, you find that there is no US!!. I think a lot of countries will be worried lot....isn't it?

Please no one liner. You have to explain also.
Well it depends on the European countries together with Japan India Israel and Australia.
If Nato still exists there will be a force to reckon with for Russia and China, but when either one of the nuclear(GB,France) European countries leaves(switch sides or become neutral) NATO,it could mean big trouble.
Russia could expand(soviet, Union territories?)so could China(annex Taiwan).
Israel would be whiped out.
New Nuclear countries, Turkey,Iran,KSA,Greece?etc maybe the whole world?
Just one spark and bye bye planet.
I wouldnt want to think of such a prospect.
The world would be fvcked!
Btw,i didnt mention Pakistan(Nuclear) because they would probably side with China.

sir jee I am not saying that madness which german and japnese created not been stopped , what I am saying that using of Nuke was wrong decision by usa ... by the time they use nuke , germans already surrender ... its just matter of time japan would also surrender

History tells You that Japanese rarely surrendered. It was considered cowardly.
The Japanese planned to resist an invasion.
U.S. estimates of casualties in an invasion were ~500,000 American dead soldiers,
and several million Japanese dead.

Repeating the Batte of Berlin all over the Japan would have caused a lot of pain
for everyone involved.

Hopefully, they will not be used ever again.
