. . .
With a genuine multi-party system the us [and the rest of the world] might`ve avoided both the george jnr and the current chump regimes, and all of the damage be it military, economic and political that they inflicted upon so many others, not to mention the not inconsiderable self inflicted damage, mainly political, that both regimes inflicted upon themselves and their "allied" vassal regimes who basically considered that they had little choice but to go along with their craziness [some more willing than others] regardless of the costs to themselves.
So long as the electoral college remains in place there is little chance for a genuine multi-party democracy in the usa, indeed I`m reminded of an old episode of the Simpsons where Homer considers voting for a 3rd party only to be told by a friend "Dont throw your vote away!".

This image is pretty much how I`ve always visualised the current american political system, basically you`ve got choice A [coke] or choice B [pepsi]......however...they`re both cola flavored,so if you prefer[politically speaking] lemonade or orange juice or red bull or even plain mineral water, well then you`re frankly just sh!t out of luck!....sorry about that.:cray:

You would probably be like Australia politically, with soft right governments dominating for long periods. A lot of recent Asian immigrants to Australia are quite conservative themselves, so if US was multi party then they wouldn’t feel the need to flock to the Dems as much.

The US is a multi-party political system. The Communist Party of the USA (CPUSA) exists.

Here is the deal...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-past-the-post_voting

The US uses the 'first past the post' (FPTP) electoral system. FPTP tends to stabilize out to two-party dominance. There is no law in the US that says there can be only two parties. Under FPTP, the burden of convincing the people to ally themselves with a party is upon the party itself, meaning only the CPUSA can convince Americans to join the CPUSA. Same with the Green Party or the Libertarian or the Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll Party, or whatever you want to create.

The bottom line is this: If there is no law prohibiting the existence of a political bias, the country is a multi-party system.

This subject have been debated on this forum yrs ago and the conclusion is still the same: The US is a multi-party system.
