After more than 40 years empired by India,Sikkim still doesnt have one single meter express(standard of the west or orther countries) way or railway ,not to talk about of HIGH SPEED RAILWAYS.Indians keep crazily plundering the resources which belonged to Sikkim people, but did nothing to improve the education ,infrastructure, industries there.though its per capita gdp is not so bad in India,it is because others are rather garbage. The neighbor TIbet, with worse natural environment, now per capita gdp is much bigger and there airports ,rail stations,schools....

Indian illegal control of the Sikkim parliament, India annexed Sikkim as one of its states.

When now our iron brother is trying to construct a road that reflects India fears that China can quickly separate mainland India from northeast India through military means, dividing India into two pieces.

Supporting Sikkim's independence would be a powerful card to deal with India, to free Sikkim and AP from illegal occupation or force from India.

New Delhi overthrew the king of Sikkim in 1975 and wrought the country's parliament into a referendum to make Sikkim a state of India," "Although China recognized India's annexation of Sikkim in 2003, it can readjust its stance on the matter. There are those in Sikkim that cherish its history as a separate state, and they are sensitive to how the outside world views the Sikkim issue."

As long as there are voices in Chinese society supporting Sikkim's independence, the voices will spread and fuel pro-independence appeals in Sikkim.

Tamil nationalists will support if there is a demand for plebiscite in Sikkim.

Yes, Tamil Nadu would definately support Sikkim as being an independent country as they also want to get freedom from illegal indian occupation.

Yes Tamil Nadu also wants a separate country and wants to get rid of Indian illegal occupation, Labor and Housing Minister K. Rajaram asked a U.S. diplomatic representative in Chennai whether the U.S. would give assistance to the State if it decided to separate and split from India.

For Pakistanis who think every Indian state wants to separate from the Union of India, I would suggest y'all to understand the ground realities and get to know that no state actually wants to secede from India, the southern states in particular. Yeah there have been few protests against hindi being imposed on Tamilians but on a whole, South Indians are as patriotic as any of our northern brothers even though we have cultural and linguistic barriers. As, you have quoted that TN wants to split from India, me as a South Indian would like to mention few points what would be the after effects if that happens
  1. Tamil Nadu is a dry region that depends on water from the neighboring 3 states of Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. By going separate, we will make the water disputes go international. The negotiations for water sharing will be harder.
  2. Tamil Nadu will have a pretty weak army. Although Tamils used to be strong fighters in the distant past, in the present time they are not a warring group. Tamils form a small portion of present Indian army (usually dominated by the Sikh and Gorkha regiments).
  3. If Tamil Nadu had broken away from India, I presume that the relationships between these two nations would be cold. The relationship with Sri Lanka would be even worse (the new TN would be emboldened to interfere more in SL) Given the geography, TN would have to depend a lot on India & Sri Lanka for a lot of its necessities and will have two hostile neighbors, with no friends in the geographical vicinity.
  4. Given 2 & 3, TN will spend most of its time in wars, but not always in the winning side.
  5. Tamil Nadu will have to find newer ways to generate electricity. Currently, TN get's a lot of electricity from Central government funded projects. Although there is scope for wind & solar and some lignite, for everything else they need the support of rest of India.
  6. Tamil Nadu is rich in a few minerals such as the lignite, graphite and phosphates, but pretty poor when it comes to critical resources such as oil, natural gas, iron ore, bauxite.
  7. Tamil Nadu is not self-sufficient when it comes to food and imports a lot of food from other states (from AP mangoes to Punjab rice).
  8. Most of software product related jobs and other well paying jobs are outside Tamil Nadu. You would then need a visa to go and work in Bangalore, Hyderabad, NCR or Mumbai.

I suggest u read this article. Discussed your question in detail

Cauvery Water Dispute and Tamilnadu Independence (by Thanjai Nalankilli)

with no friends in the geographical vicinity.

Really. Potential allies USA, Pak, BD, China, EU (depends on these countries relation with India)

Tamil Nadu will have to find newer ways to generate electricity. Currently, TN get's a lot of electricity from Central government funded projects.

Where does Central gov funds come? Not fro9m Hindi states. It comes from Tamilnadu itself. For every Rs 100 India collects in taxes from Tamilnadu it gives back Rs 40. For every Rs 100 India collects from Uttar Prades (Hindi stare) it gives back Rs 170. So free Tamil Nadu has plenty of money to generate electructy. It is Hindi states that would go hungry and rif=de donkeys (no cars) without plundering monety from non-Hindi states

Tamil Nadu is rich in a few minerals such as the lignite, graphite and phosphates, but pretty poor when it comes to critical resources such as oil, natural gas, iron ore, bauxite.

Japan is poor in natural resources too!

Most of software product related jobs and other well paying jobs are outside Tamil Nadu. You would then need a visa to go and work in Bangalore, Hyderabad, NCR or Mumbai

Indep TN would have its own software industry. We have educatex people. Thats all that is needed in global commerce

A separate Tamil Nadu independent country was a key demand of the DMK’s parent organisation, the Dravidar Kazhagam (DK).

Rajaram, who died in 2008, told the U.S. representative at the 1976 meeting held at his residence that while no such move was in the offing, young people within the DMK were talking about separation.

“The Russia and other communist countries are backing Mrs. Gandhi in her efforts to kill democracy here. If this succeeds, communist influence will grow and [the young party workers felt] Tamil Nadu should secede.” Rajaram said that was his reason for floating the trial balloon.
