Funny, that you ask for answers when you don't even know the content of the treaty but you have many arguments to denfend it when I stated my opinion in my first post in this thread.
Punch TPP into youtube and you have more than enough for the next days to go through.
It seems like you need to understand more about arguments/debates. If you make a statement/claim, then you would need to back up that claim with reputable data/sources.
You have previously made some claims related to the TPP and Vietnam, so I have the right to ask you for data/sources that can back up your claims. This is all I have done in this thread, I have only disputed against people’s claim and/or ask them to back up their claims. Like that Malaysian guy, he claims that the woman in the clip is ignorant about bumiputra so I ask him to prove this.
So I actually haven’t presented any “arguments to defend” the woman/TPP after you have made your initial post, nor would I need to as argued by that Malaysian guy. All I need to do is to question your claims. You made a claim, you need to back it up, its that simple. And making supporting arguments like “just google it or type it in youtube” is not intellectual. I wish we can just all do that for school essay or research paper, but not all students are fortunate enough to have Dr. Gotterdam as a marker.
So you have made some claims, and I, as I had done before, am still asking you to back up your claims with reliable data/sources.
Let’s just start with your first claim to make it easier. You said something like all of VN’s water will be privatised and be under the control of various private companies like it is the case for some S. American countries.
So, please provide some reliable sources to back up this claim. Specifically, TPP will force VN to privatize water? Did you made that claim from reliable sources or were you just using the magic 8 ball while eating some sourgrape?
I will still wait for some reliable sources.
@Yorozuya Noble peace laureates really? There only one Vietnamese and he is dead. Anyway what marcnuv said is true. Malaysian government is behaving suspiciously, such as organizing TPPA talk show on Television(Media strictly controlled by government) and the buyout of certain sectors in the economy(1MDB/GLC takeovers). I believe they would only agree if Bumiputra interest would be safeguarded. Maybe free trade with US would dilute Malaysian Chinese hold on the private economy.
Keyword is Bumiputera.
The point was not about bumiputra.
What I was disputing was macurv’s claim that the woman is ignorant of Bumiputra. So I ask him to back up his claim that this is so.
Bumiputra is not some secret insider’s info. Even some PDF members know about it and some Malaysian politicians have openly talked about TPP and its relation to Bumiputra. So I would be surprised if that PhD, who works on a trade advisory board in Singapore, would be ignorant of bumiputra. So I am asking, and still waiting, for his proofs that she really is ignorant of it.
It will destroy Vietnam's domestic industry and cement its status as a provider of low cost materials and labor to developed countries. I hope that Vietnam can turn away from its current path of self hate. Right now in Vietnam, American culture is #1 with Vietnamese culture itself being an afterthought. Even elementary school students prefer trash like KFC over Vietnamese food.
