So background we would be Pathan but I would associate myself as American-Punjabi since my whole family back in Pakistan are in Punjab.

I know an "Afridi" who point blank told me she's much more than half punjabi. i.e. some Afridi guy just married a Punjabi, and the same probably happened in the next generation i.e. this tribe thing is BS, it's entirely racial. What are you racially? What do you LOOK LIKE? Based on my tribe, I'd be Iranian.
